I don't know what actually scares me more; Nabu and his kin, or the Otherkind. Suffice it to say that this series always delivers, in terms of character, dialogue and art. This comic is always one of my first reads and a series that I will treasure for years to come. That's not to say there isn't plenty to sink your teeth into in this issue. This book has one of the most beautifully painted pages I've seen in a comic in a long time. You'll know it when you see it, but it's the one where all the panels are assembled into an urn. I think the part that stands out the most for me in this writing is the fact that Tynion so expertly explains to us how magic and science walk parallel lines; that pieces of one resound largely in the other. The balance is integral, especially when realizing that two of the team are more science/logical minded beings. I think that ultimately, this major component is going to become imperative to where the story leads. Especially when considering the need for desire to will things into fruition. Ultimately, we're left waiting to see what order is brought to the team and what this means for Magic itself. It may not have been till the very end of the issue that we actually see these Lords of Order, but this week's issue of Justice League Dark served as an exciting build-up to that introduction. With every passing scene you could feel this story revving up towards a big revelation, and the execution was successful because of everything that has made this situation more dire than it could ever be. Although well written and beautifully illustrated, Justice League Dark #8 did feel a little slow at times but Tynion IV captures these characters well and Im eager to see where all this ends. Also if you want to know why Doctor Fate's helmet is disfigured, check out Curse of Brimstone #9 where both Nabu AND Kent Nelson got their collective butts handed to them by Brimstone. Theres no escape from the awesomeness that s this book! My favorite title right now! You can feel how big of a threat the villains are! And Zatanna is back to using her powers! Awesome! Man-Bat is an amazing character in this series. As is Detective Chimp. Two characters i didnt give a damn before, but now i love! Beautiful art! Specially the last page! Gorgeous! Cant wait for next month!

Another excellent comic in the series. I love all the different magical characters he uses. I am always impressed by how much story he can pack into one issue. If anyone is wondering how good the series is, well, it is the best series right now. Pick it up, and read the previous issues if you can.

Not gonna lie, I'm thoroughly impressed with this series and its tenacity to deliver pure awesomeness, Tynion has certainly earned his respect. It's quite entertaining to see every magic users in one place, the art manages to capture the detail perfectly. This issue deals with so many things at once like the unforeseen invasion of Otherkind into the Oblivion Bar, wow, that must be horrifying and not to mention Lords of Order at the end of this comic. Wonder Woman and Zatanna's side quest strengthens the development of the characters and stories. I did not expect Man-Bat out of all the people to perform magic and succeed with it by releasing Khalid Nassour who was imprisoned by corrupted Nabu, well, I guess that's JLD, it keeps surprising.

Things aren't looking too good for our heroes. The Otherkind have arrived and it looks like our heroes are going to need to take desperate measures to fight them off. Tynion is great at referencing older DC comics and I love the world-building he's doing in this series.

Another great issue. The series continues to be my favourite DC title. The characterisation of these characters is so spot on. Detective Chimp and Man-Bat have been blessed by Tynion's writing. Despite knowing little about Bobo and thinking of Man-Bat as a one dimensional character, this series has made them two of my favourites. My only problem with this issue is that the Zatanna and Wonder Woman subplot doesn't feel like it ties into the overarching story. It lacks the urgency and tone that this arc portrays overall.

Solid issue! Actually had me wanting more. Great character choices to be in this issue and we expanded more in the dark characters in this issue. Made me laugh, worried, and happy all throughout the issue! After reading this issue, can still think this series would be better if Wonder Woman wasn’t in this comic.

"The horror's ended" New story arc begins here and this issue nicely sets up the plot and the conflict we will most likely see resolved by the end and it just looks great. The art department is doing a wonderful job here. The vast cast of various and very different magical beings and creatures looks really good, but there are two definitive standouts. Great looking Etrigan and, the guardian of the Green, Swamp Thing who ditched his viney dreds in favor of more intimidating visage. But there is just something in this issue that doesn't entirely work for me, because of that it was a bit difficult to get through. Maybe it's because of the fact that the team is separated and we can't see all of them interacting with each other and no t laughing at Bobo's jokes. It was always a big positive for me since the JL Dark's lineup is pretty good in this book. I enjoy the story Tynion is writing here and I'm interested to see how it will progress, I just hope that with the new addition to the roster the team will quickly get back together. more

Seriously, the average is almost 9 so far? Wow. It was too confusing for me after 1st read thru and the dialogue heavy layout could've flowed better.
