Characters like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman have taken a back seat during this run so others could get the spotlight. And I'm glad that that's the case. But It was also great to see this moment play out with these characters. Their intertwined stories made it a more than earned scene. This is a fun fight comic with a deeper meaning in its second half, but total fun all the way through. Jimenez should be commended for his detailed and dynamic art, never letting us down every fist-to-the-face of the way. Scott Snyder gets all the pieces in place for the big battle next issue and I liked it.  We get to see what a threat Lex is, but also how the power of being good can combat that to the bitter end.  The art is really good as well and if you aren't fired up by the time you are done looking at the cliffhanger page, you might be a hobo. With Justice League #38 being the penultimate issue of Scott Snyder's run on the title, next issue will bring us the conclusion of the Justice/Doom War. While we might assume that the League will be victorious, we also know that this storyline is feeding into the “Hell Arisen” storyline. So, victory isn't certain. Will it be more of a stalemate? Or might Perpetua and Luthor win? I can't wait to see how Snyder finishes this story off. Read Full Review

Last issue felt kind of like a stalling one. Would have liked to see this on stretched over two if not three issues but some really badass moments in there.

Prelude: It's the supposed finale of Snyder's Justice League so let's see how it pans out. The Good: I liked Shayne's sacrifice. It's a nice look into Snyder's run on the title. Jimenez's art stole the show here. The Bad: Apex Lex just isn't good this issue. Still don't like Perpetua. Conclusion: My main concern with the title is that I really don't like the choice of villain here. The overall concept and messages is great but it's in Perpetua and Apex Lex that this story falters.

Alright lets move it along please, each of the past issues have admittedly been very fun and cool to see new visuals, but they all suffer from insane decompression. This was thought to be a big week for ncbd and connecting everything going across all titles and after reading this and hell arisen, that couldn't be further from the truth. All of these titles still have their own stories and will keep going past this week. Art is really good though, love Jimenez, excited to see what he brings to batman

DOOM WAR! Evil has already won and there's no take backs, t but wait! JL just extended membership to every hero in the DCU! I wonder what will happen with this new JLU. (To be continued.) Well, they kind of dropped the whole JLU thing. Were they even in this issue? Evil has won and there's no take backs, but wait! JSA and Kamandi! (To be continued.) Well, JSA and Kamandi had a few generic lines and then they pretty much dropped the JSA and Kamandi things. Evil has won and there's no take backs, but wait! Batman Beyond and JL Beyond! (To be continued.) Well, the Batman Beyond characters were just there to hover in the background. Evil has won and there's no take backs, but wait! Kingdom Come characters and Nite Owl! (To be contin ued.) Every character across DC Hypertime stands at the ready, silent, and off-panel. The Trinity fights Lex Luthor. Perpetua hovers menacingly again and says some more threats. Robin has a line and there's a panel of random JLU members, including a bonus shot of forgotten full-time member (since Drowned Earth), Mera! The Beyond characters, the JSA, Kamandi, Kingdom Come characters, and Nite Owl either didn't appear or their appearances were so forgettable I forgot they appeared. But wait! Martian Manhunter lives! Didn't see that coming. Wait! Maybe that's where those green thought bubbles have coming from since he "died!" (To be continued.) Next issue: The conclusion of Doom War! Who knows WHO might show up for another thrilling, silent cameo! more
