Sep 18, 2019Flash Forward is a right step toward bringing Wally back to prominence in DC even if it's taking a significant detour. With this creative team, Wally should be in a much better place than Heroes in Crisis left him. Read Full Review

Sep 27, 2019While I have some trepidation about this title, Flash Forward #1 gives me hope that Lobdell can succeed in re-establishing Wally as a bastion of hope and heroism for the DCU. I look forward to seeing how this endeavour progresses. Read Full Review

Sep 23, 2019And this is exactly where The Flash should be: amongst the brazenly bizarre and embracing the eccentric. The Flash is nothing without a little mind-bending absurdity. A fella who can run pretty fast isn't that particularly interesting. A guy who's lightning-infused tempo allows him to traverse different dimensions? Who's plugged in to the ebb and flow of time? Whose existence is tied into the cosmic narrative? Well, that's a tale worth telling. Read Full Review

Sep 18, 2019Flash Forward #1 is an interesting start to this miniseries. It feels like it's a story you need the whole picture before truly judging. Unfortunately, we have to do that one issue at a time. With that, this feels like one that's worth a read but maybe hold out for the trade. Read Full Review

Sep 20, 2019Flash Forward #1 is a bit shaky as it tries to navigate the fallout of Heroes in Crisis, but by the issues end it finds its footing. With much of the heavy lifting out of the way, the series is set up to give readers a worthwhile Wally West comic that hasnt been seen since the beginning months of DC Rebirth. Lobdells story seems determined to be a rallying call for older readers, and if nothing else, the art team will ensure that the book looks good for its six-issue run. Read Full Review

Sep 18, 2019There may be too much baggage here to simply store it in a six issue mini overhead compartment, but with the elements involved laid out in front of us, the creative team may be able to shove it all in in a way that works by the end. Right now though, it comes off as a beautiful looking hodgepodge that will hopefully redeem our main character in a way that feels right. Read Full Review

Sep 18, 2019Flash Forward #1, the first issue of a spin-off from Heroes in Crisis is an odd duck " it's essentially two comics in one, and neither is particularly bad " although there are some glaring logical issues in one " but they go together like oil and water. Read Full Review

Sep 22, 2019Wally West should be getting a better treatment than this. He should be The Flash or, at the very least, have his own book as some other character, just something more than a miniseries by two mostly mediocre creators. But fine. Flash Forward is as much as you're going to get for the foreseeable future and it's ok. The writing is ok, the premise is creative, the redemption is (so far) well-handled and the art is tolerable. If you want to tell DC you still love Wally, vote with your cash and go buy this book. Read Full Review

Newsarama - Justin Partridge
Sep 18, 2019. On the one hand, it aims to be a heart-wrenching tale of a man coming back from horrors. On the other, it's a high-stakes romp through the 52 worlds in order to save it from destruction. But at least it looks fun, right? Here is hoping that the more Flash Forward moves forward that it will find itself along with Wally West's soul. Read Full Review

Sep 19, 2019To say that this issue surprised me would be a fair statement. Its not astounding by any means but Lobdell actually created something average. Im suitably impressed. The issue lagged with how much Wally was moping and I hope to god that lessens as we go on. Im cautiously optimistic about the next issue. Read Full Review

Sep 18, 2019The cliffhanger is intriguing, but that's about it. This issue takes too much time reminding us how bad Wally feels about accidentally murdering a bunch of heroes and not enough time hooking us into the new adventure. Instead, you're left a bit sad and confused as to what is going to happen next. Read Full Review
