Williamson's flash has really been picking up speed since “Year One” and it has reclaimed its rightful place as a cornerstone of the DC lineup. I look forward to seeing how Barry deals with the Rogues and what adventures will come after that. Read Full Review

Flash #83 is a pretty strong issue until a big twist a few pages before the end, which leads to a stunning splash segment showing exactly what happens when Barry takes the collar off " and what has happened to the Speed Force. Read Full Review

I think what makes me like the art so much in this issue are Sandoval’s collaborators in Tarragona on inks and Prianto on colors. Tarragona’s inks are clean and crisp throughout and really bring out Sandoval’s pencils off the page. This is only enhanced by Prianto’s very vivid choice of colors and having the reds and yellows surrounding Flash and companion in sharp contrast to the icy blues of Captain Cold’s Central City. This issue takes the world that we established in the previous issue and puts the wheels in motion for a proper storyline. We get a few surprises along the way and we get a sense of how things will be in the coming issues. Granted, the explanations that they give in the issue are very underwhelming but I'll forgive it for now. This issue also ends of a great cliffhanger and gave us some really amazing art. The saving grace of the issue is Rafa Sandoval's brilliantly detailed and stunning visuals. The art is dramatic and tense with a visual flair that ramps up both. I love the look of this issue and how gorgeous he makes the characters look as the action leaps off the page. Read Full Review

This issue feels like something of an exposition dump to catch Allen up to speed and while the interesting new side effect of what happens when a speedster access a now defunct Speed Force is intriguing, the issue tends to run out of gas throughout. Read Full Review

Overall, two issues into this arc, it's just not delivering on its potential. It's been a while since there has been a Rogues story where they were actually a big threat. Unfortunately, any sense of real danger is lost to the "who cares" feeling of its connection to an already-exhausted crossover event. Hopefully, Williamson will use this story to launch into something more meaningful for the Rogues in the near future, or it will be a mighty big waste of these great characters. Read Full Review

Prelude: Rogues' Reign started out strongly last issue, so let's see how Williamson goes on this issue. The Good: The prison scene and subsequent escape was cool to see. The twist there was expected but it was great seeing it unfold. King Cold has definitely gone more unstable as you can tell from the story he was giving. It'll be interesting to see if he returns back to normal and reacts to what he had done. The twist at the end, amazing. It's lovely to see the destructive prowess of the Speed Force and with time now being broken, it explains how all of these events are happening at the same time. Sandoval's art is great too. Really well done. The Bad: Nothing. Conclusion: I am loving Rogues' Reign so far and this iss ue amps that up. I can't wait for more. more

I've learned to never read too much into quotes in individual books as far as the entire DCU is concerned but... "time and reality is broken" almost makes it sound like every book may be happening at the same time when the Doom sigil appears. Then Flash sees the Hall of Justice from JL, and various futures like Kamandi, which have appeared in JL and Legion as of recently.

"Long live King Cold!" Good issue. I'm really liking this story arc so far. It's fun, Cold is a great villain and it looks great. The only thing dragging it down is the Year of the Villain continuity. Between this book and Justice League, the timeline makes no sense.
