Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
Mar 18, 2026This issue is a particularly good character spotlight for Slade, who is one of the DCU’s oldest villains both in terms of time on the job and in terms of age in-universe. He’s a grizzled man who was hurt by people he trusted and hurt a whole lot of innocent people in return, and he has zero desire to change. That makes him a fascinating character to be inside the head of, even if he’s utterly loathsome – similar to great villain protagonists like Walter White. Read Full Review

Mar 18, 2026Someone has crossed a line with Slade Wilson and there’s no turning back now in an intense opening salvo. Fleecs unlocks a few sides to Deathstroke outside of his business demeaner. Di Giandomenico & Plascencia bring the action on the high-octane mission at hand. If the last page is any indication, no one is safe for what’s coming next! Read Full Review

Mar 18, 2026Deathstroke: The Terminator #1: Explosive art and taut pacing deliver visceral thrills alongside Slade's raw family fractures and stubborn core, making every page a sharp investment in character-driven mayhem. Yet reliance on a betrayal cliffhanger and sparse intel depth tempers the standalone punch, muting full satisfaction. This issue earns a spot for fans weighing limited pulls, blending reliable action with a promising revenge arc that tests Deathstroke's unyielding basics head-on.9/10We hope you found this article interesting. KPB Comics - Phillip Creary
Mar 18, 2026This debut doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s a high-octane return to form. Slade feels dangerous again. He’s move-for-move the coolest mercenary in comics, looking like a version of Captain America who decided to cash in on his skills. The issue ends on a cliffhanger that sets Slade on a collision course with a new enemy. If he was “empty” before this, he’s pure rage now. That’s a bad sign for the rest of the DC Universe, but it’s great news for readers who want a gritty, grounded action series.< Read Full Review

I have never been a Tony Fleecs fan. I enjoyed the first 3 issues of Feral before it became annoying, and I stopped buying it . With that said , I admit I was apprehensive of seeing his name on a Deathstroke book. But why not ? I really enjoyed this first issue. It's fast-paced, and it’s Slade doing what he does best. The plot was basic with Slade on a job with little intel who contracted him. Then it all falls apart, and we end on a cool cliffhanger with Slade looking jacked up and the odds against him. It's enough to make me very excited to see what's next, and while some of this got very exposition-heavy, it was just enough not to be eye-rolling, so it lowered the score, and I wanted a little more plot, but...Well done bringing this l more
