Batman: Universe #6
| Writer | Brian Michael Bendis |
| Artist | Nick Derington |
| Cover Price | $4.99 |
Available to comics shops for the first time! In the conclusion to Brian Michael Bendis and Nick Derington's DCU-spanning saga, Batman's mind is trapped in the unlikeliest of places- inside a White Lantern ring! That would be bad enough, but his physical body is stuck on Earth, completely vulnerable to attack from his enemies. Good news: Batman's freed when the White Lantern ring chooses a new recipient. Bad news: that "new recipient" is Vandal Savage. Originally published in Batman Giant #13 and #14.

Dec 04, 2019I don't know if Bendis is planning any more Batman stories in the future, but this arc indicated that he has one of the most unique and compelling visions for the character in a long time. DC printing it again in this format has been an essential step in making sure this gem gets the attention it deserves. Read Full Review

Dec 04, 2019Nick Derington does some great work in this issue. The action is fantastic and I loved the Green Lantern splash page especially. There are some other great visual moments and panels with fun easter eggs and appearances throughout as Vandal and Batman fight through time and space. This is a great looking issue from start to finish. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Lizzy Garcia
Dec 04, 2019As a series, Batman: Universehas been a delightful and more light-hearted Batman book. It has elements that every great Batman story should and is reminiscent of the Justice League: Unlimited cartoon. While this final issue doesn't have a lot of the humor found in the previous ones, the series as a whole had a lot of "laugh out loud" moments. Overall, Batman: Universe #6is a solid conclusion to a great series that could easily serve as a solid entry point for newer fans to the DC Universe while also providing a more relaxed, less brooding story for returning ones. Dec 04, 2019There are lots of great ideas here, so while the book isn't ever bad in any way, Bendis' reach exceeded his grasp with the story he was wanting to tell. Read Full Review

The Batman Universe - David Finn
Dec 04, 2019Overall this is a very average comic book story with beautiful art. It glides by on the surface, but is curiously unsatisfying and is still filled with trademark Bendis-speak that only drowns the material in an ocean of average. A middling ending for a middling series. This is for Bendis and Batman completists, but it does contain amazing art. Read Full Review
