I don't know if Bendis is planning any more Batman stories in the future, but this arc indicated that he has one of the most unique and compelling visions for the character in a long time. Nick Derington does some great work in this issue. The action is fantastic and I loved the Green Lantern splash page especially. There are some other great visual moments and panels with fun easter eggs and appearances throughout as Vandal and Batman fight through time and space. As a series, Batman: Universehas been a delightful and more light-hearted Batman book. It has elements that every great Batman story should and is reminiscent of the Justice League: Unlimited cartoon. While this final issue doesn't have a lot of the humor found in the previous ones, the series as a whole had a lot of "laugh out loud" moments. Overall, Batman: Universe #6is a solid conclusion to a great series that could easily serve as a solid entry point for newer fans to the DC Universe while also providing a more relaxed, less brooding story for returning ones. Overall this is a very average comic book story with beautiful art. It glides by on the surface, but is curiously unsatisfying and is still filled with trademark Bendis-speak that only drowns the material in an ocean of average. Great ending and a great series overall. The reason this works even though it was written by Bendis, is because of the original length of the Batman Giant book. Each book could only be 12 pages, so Bendis could not rely on his standard decompression seen in many of his other books. That works with this series and hopefully it teaches Bendis how to write his other books better. The art of course is amazing, Nick Derington's visuals never disappoint.

Good comic book from Bendis in 2019 sounds impossible, but here it is. But don't even dare to give this man an ongoing, he is known for ruining own series after decent first arcs.

Prelude: I just read Batman #84, please Bendis give me a good Batman issue, please. The Good: Bendis-Speak wasn't bad this issue. The look into the White Lantern Ring was interesting. While confusing (See The Bad), I did like the Batman-less Bruce Wayne scenes. I just wish Bendis communicated these better. I loved Vandal and Batman's fight through time and space. I like that the entire series was tied together in this issue. Nick Derington's art was absolutely great, not only in this issue but throughout the entire series. The Bad: The story can be a tad confusing at parts. Conclusion: A great conclusion to Batman: Universe. An odyssey of adventure going across the universe and time, Bendis and Derington did a ph enomenal job here which is much better than I can say about Bendis' other works. more

DC should give Bendis a chance with more Batman stories. I know we're living in an era of dark books, especially for the Bat, but this light-hearted story was great and Derrington's art was on point.

To be honest, this caught me by surprise. I am always nervous around Brian Michael Bendis but this book was actually entertainingly good. It had great action, art, and the dialogue wasnt bad. But most importantly: it had a lot of heart in it. It's a fun elseworlds story that is genuinely entertaining. Just wish Brian michael bendis worked on street level heroes instead of godly heroes like Justice League or superman

Aside from some things Bendis got wrong about lanterns, I am satisfied with it. It didn't close as strong as the earlier issues in terms of quality though.
