It is all just perfect. From Boy Thunder's temper to Barry's Supergirl comment to Superman's speech, it all works. Once again Waid, Mora and Bonvillain put out a strong issue. The character work is pretty great, the artwork even greater, and the story as a whole is very well structured and paced. Stuff like all of Gotham being threatened for the umpteenth time doesn't bother me as much here as it does in other books, but I'm still not a huge fan, especially not when both Joker and Key aren't that interesting for me in this story. The good far outweighs the bad, though, and I recommend you get this book while it's hot! Read Full Review

Always so intense and light. I love it. It's an invigorating comic book! The young hero's confession was touching. Robin (Dick Grayson) is really a smart character who knows how to put himself in the shoes of others. Excellent characterization of the first Robin, it was time to do him justice and that's what the whole team of Marc Waid and Dan Mora did. There is joy in this comic despite all the events that take place and the terrifying cliffanger.

Another good issue. It was great to see the original teen titans. It was good to see Thunder Boy get lectured about controlling his emotions and not kill. Joker and Key made a good team-up. Not sure how Superman pulled the water out without pulling out all of the people and I'm not sure how Batman was able to close the gate with his car, but just roll with it. The cliffhanger was good as well.

Still good but a bit stretched out at this point in terms of The Big Secret of Boy Thunder. But the last few pages are great, and only Waid could get away with "changing the course of a mighty river." That cover is in poor taste, but more importantly it's anachronistic since the Joker hasn't killed his first sidekick yet. (Just kidding. It's a grotesque cover but also very funny.)
