Batman and Robin #28

I love love love when characters from comic books, who have been created many many years ago, and have somewhat become silly or a parody, get a modern update and a level up. Over the fence at Marvel recently they have done it with Doug Ramsey in Age of Revelation. And James Gunn's Suicide Squad did it with Polka Dot man. I love when they do that. Shows that these characters that we have all read since we were kids, and seen in cartoons have unlimited potential! Can't praise it enough. Now I think if you read this issue you will know exactly who i'm talking about, but due to the legal spoiler implications. I can't talk about it until next issue haha. The saga of The Quiet Man heads into uncharted water with this latest issue. Kennedy-Johnson's writing baits the readers in before a huge surprise throws everything up in the air. This arc is far and away the best thing PKJ has ever written and the end reveal was fantastic. Penguin, Two-Face, and Ventriloquist are three of my favorite villains so this story is just checking off all the boxes for me. Great call to have a subtle character like the quiet man hunting them down as I don't think the story would be as effective with some verbose character hunting them down. Only minor gripe with the issue is the street kids are starting to be a bit much and though the art is great, Damien looks off character. Really hoping PJK sticks the landing on this are it'll be a trade worth collecting.

I heard that either the title was ending or PHilip Kennedy Johnson was leaving it. Let me know which is true. This was a very exciting issue, though it still bothers me that Bruce won't give any money to homeless kids any money to get them off the street.
