Batman and Robin #11

Batman and Robin #11 is an amazing beginning to a new arc. An arc that has dinosaurs, a fight with T-Rexes, and the return of a fan-favorite villain in Bane. It's also not without its mysteries, with how Bane is seemingly back as a pseudo-anti-hero as opposed to the capital V villain he has been previously. Oh, and also don't forget the dinosaurs. Batman and Robin #11 starts off on a solid note. While the story isn't anything new, the artwork is absolutely beautiful, and who doesn't love dinosaurs? I'm intrigued to see what happens next. Some people have been waiting years for the payoff of Damian finally getting his revenge on Bane for killing Alfred. Will it happen in this arc? Guess we'll have to find out! See you next time. It is remarkable how quickly Williamson advances the arc in a single book and is a sharp contrast to the longform currently being used by Ram V on Detective Comics (for example). Williamson has mostly opted for a light-hearted tone in his work on Batman and Robin, as even the plot Man-Bat pushed felt more "Scooby-Doo style villainy as opposed to the dark, almost horror stylings we saw in James Tynion IV's Joker War and Fear State. This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Dinosaurs and Bane, count me in! Also the art was amazing. Absolutely impeccable.

I was racking my brain trying to remember where I had seen Ferreyra's art before because the art in this book was so incredible. Just came to me, he did a few issues of Venom recently and they were even more incredible. Hope this guy gets more work pronto because he might be my favorite artist right now.

A little cheesy but still a fun time with dinosaurs plus it’s appreciated how Williamson keeps bringing back characters from previous stories with Damian.

Though this was a fun issue, Batman and dinosaurs really do not mesh well. Maybe robotic ones, but Batman on dinosaur island just seems silly, just like it did with Shazam. Also, Bane looks 20 feet tall here. I'm not sure how that works. Since when did Bane have a daughter. Someone clue me in on that one -- and who's the mother.
