"THE TRAVELERS" part two! Booster Gold's wedding present has screwed up Batman's past, and done even more damage to his present. Now, with the Caped Crusader himself refusing to cooperate, the only way for Booster to correct this runaway timeline is to get Catwoman on his side. But with her own past altered, can he make Catwoman recognize the qualities in her husband-to-be that brought them together in the first place? Plus, if Batman isn't doing his job, Gotham City may become way more dangerous than our bumbling time-traveler might be ready for.

'Batman' #46 is the best kind of alternate/time-travel story. It's shocking, fast-paced and brutal, with gorgeous art to bring it all together. 5 Stars! Read Full Review

Batman #46 was a great read and I can't wait to read the next issue! It's pretty clear that with a friend like Booster Gold you really don't need any enemies! I almost found myself frustrated with Booster in this issue because of his failure to take anything seriously. However it seems to be more optimism than a failure. My next question is now that Bruce's parents are gone–what exactly happens to him now? Read Full Review

Booster Gold tearing up Batman's timeline is not a gift, watching things fall apart in Batman #46 certainly is however; as the situation continues to get worse, Tom King continues to capitalize on the chaos. Read Full Review

I'm not a Booster Gold fan, but I give the man his respect when he deserves it. But honestly, right now Booster Gold just gets a good SMH. He has me wondering "How does this guy still have a time machine and is still part of the Justice League?" All I hope is for Booster Gold to quickly turn this whole mess around and fix this time line, because on how this issue ended things are not looking so good for everyone and Booster Gold. Right now Booster Gold is diffidently the Kite Man of the Justice League, maybe even worse. He's the Yamcha of the Justice League. Read Full Review

I'm now aware of the fact that King's take on Booster Gold apparently doesn't really hold true to the purest form of the character. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying this issue for what it is. I know it's weird for me to be saying that, since I'm always such a stickler for things to be done “correctly”, but I'm really having a blast with this storyline and I'm finding myself yucking it up far too frequently to say it's not an entertaining and enjoyable read. If you just want to sit back, unplug from reality, and give your mind a kookylittle diversion…this is probably the comic for you. Read Full Review

As far as the issue goes, it's a solid way to escalate this story but it still kind of feels like it won't have any lasting stakes on the story. While it's absolutely fun, I'd kind of rather get back to canon. Perhaps issue #47 will present some long-lasting stakes to the overallBatman mythos going forward. Read Full Review

Time will tell is this is a successful arc, but I am invested. The last Page was a cool twist on the origin of Batman, and even though we see the image once per issue it seems, the tableau with his parents dead in the alley, we get a fresh take for this new story. Read Full Review

The storytelling wasn't as strong in this issue compared to the last. Some parts were just straight up confusing, including Booster's rambling. But it was successful in portraying his situation as a complete mess, and the ridiculousness of it all is highly entertaining. I love Elseworlds and time travel stories so I'm enjoying myself quite a bit, but this second issue was a bit choppy. Still, this is another good outing for this creative team. Read Full Review

King continues making some twists in his alternate-universe storyline. However, the adventure showcases the downside of the alternate-universe trope: it is too easy to make everything awful and the characters unlikeable. This makes it difficult for the readers to connect with anybody. Furthermore, the outrageous tone makes the ending unintentionally laughable. Read Full Review

I've really enjoyed King's run on Batman and, now that I'm caught up, look forward to reading at a normal pace to fully enjoy his work. This alternate timeline story arc is interesting, but came out of no where. Having binge read this entire run is likely why this arc feels off; but the art is too good to not want to see more of it; especially the way Batman #46 ends. Read Full Review

Batman #46 is an enjoyable Elseworld tale of what would've happened if Bruce's parents would've been alive. The post-apocalyptic setting created a lot of interesting opportunities for Tom King to explore various characters from Batman's mythos in different roles. At the same time there is a bit to the world that does not fully tap into the potential of this world. Though some life is given to the Gotham City we get in Batman #46 thanks to so great artwork from Tony Daniel. Read Full Review

We The Nerdy - Chad Waller

    May 02, 2018

Batman #46 is a very strange book, because for all its muster at trying to do something with meaning, we all know it won't end with any. As a funny romp through a new idea, it's also starting to fail. I like some of its style, and I like some of Booster Gold's personality, but you cannot have a genre-savvy character miss the obvious. That defeats the purpose. Basically, I'm left wondering why we can't just have our damn wedding already. Read Full Review

Continued below(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Final Verdict : 5.5 " Although "Batman" #46 earns extra points for its beautiful and cohesive art style, the core problems with the plot are too relevant to consider it a strong arc for this run. While some hope can be held for the final issues of this story, King would need to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat to salvage this one. Read Full Review

    Comic Crusaders - Jennifer DeRoss

    May 02, 2018

In the end, this will all be written out anyways. I understand that some people will want to read everything as we wait for the big wedding and there could very well be additional emotional resonances that could come from seeing the characters in such a different light, but we have the entire history of Batman comics to imbue the relationship with meaning. I recommend skipping this barely wedding-related Batman sidestep. There are some highlights including a mention of Blue Beetle sewing and a great nod to one of my favorite Batman movies, but there just isn't enough to make this a worthy entry into the Batman canon. King has some decent concepts here, but he sacrifices all of the great work done over the last decade in making Booster a better character. This would be similar to having Batman smiling and making bad puns in a guest appearance in Superman. Batman fans with no attachment to Booster might appreciate this, but theres no justice in this portrayal of a B-list hero who deserves a lot better. Read Full Review

Batman #46 is even more frustrating than the previous issue. I had hoped that this arc would become more engaging after the setup, but its only gotten worse. Booster Gold behaves like Deadpool. Weird Science - Eric Shea

    May 02, 2018

Batman continues to be disappointing this issue because instead of trying to make this ridiculous story make sense in what Booster Gold is actually doing, it instead just references the issues that came before it so that it can just move into a big "wow" moment that doesn't mean anything in the end because we're dealing with an alternate timeline.  Thankfully, the art continues to be great because, besides that, there isn't much reason to still pick up this book.
