Overall, while I'm not sure that a second book for King's story was needed, Campbell is able to follow up on her Mary Marvel mini compellingly and set up a strong cliffhanger for next issue. Read Full Review

Campbell knows how to tell a story and do it well. With DC finally focusing more on superhero families outside Gotham, it's beautiful to see Amazonian warriors from different customs band together and defeat an evil that hunts them all down. Read Full Review

I enjoy the interaction between the characters, but Tom King's set up for this entire event is extremely lacking. I don't buy that thousands of Amazonians moved from Paradise Island to live in "man's world." It doesn't make any sense. Visiting - yes, but moved to live their lives in America? I don't buy it. I really like Mary Marvel as well, but the few digs that Josie did against men for no reason bothered me. "My condolences," when the rabbit said he was male and her going off on Nubia how all men are bad in the last few pages had no bearing on the story. If the Migdhall queen has a distrust of men, then show us the set up and give us an arc regarding this, just don't blurt it out like commentary. Despite this I still enjoy the characters more

This book's just a good time and glad Josie Campbell was given the chance to write these characters. Perfect balance to the dry tone to King's Wonder Woman.
