This entire epic has been, well, epic a display of everything that makes Superman the greatest superhero of all time. Action Comics 1046 just brings that all home, demonstrating Clark Kents resourcefulness and determination as well as his bottomless compassion. Action Comics #1046 is a great penultimate chapter. Johnson is excellent at making an action-packed story, but he has no problem showing why the heroes are heroes. He does that with Superman and Steel in this issues stories. Ossio, Loughridge, Lapham, Mulvihill, and Sharpe supply the story with amazing visuals. This issue does an incredible job of getting everyone ready for the finale of this brilliant story. Read Full Review

The art is a bit of a mixed bag for me overall, but boy did I enjoy our main Action Comics story because while this story has been all about showing Superman being super without his powers, this issue just cranks that up to eleven but none of it ever feels forced or out of place for what's going on. I just wish that the art and the backup were as strong overall, even though the backup does offer some fan service and some good times. Read Full Review

The stakes and risk are high with little chance of success. But even so this books manages us to show that Superman always finds a way.

This was a great issue with plenty of action. This issue should have come 3 months ago. This series is so drawn out and now we have to buy a completely different book to finish the story. What a bunch of bullshit. Only DC could come up with a way to screw over fans of this book. Though if they put Jon Kent into Action, I'm probably going to drop it anyway. The additional story is completely throw away. So much for my $1.00

Still a great book, but I would be lying to you if I said I was enjoying the War-world stuff more than the back-up story. Something about David Lapham's art is just so dynamic and fun, and I love the super-family in action. Nostalgia for the pre-flashpoint continuity is real!

Worth a comeback, the whole Hercules/Kratos quest vibes was too much to ask for. Plus the twists, artwork, ending and much more was pure out of the moon stuff. Really got fascinated with this one. Waiting for an epic finale

It had great action but it was all incoherent. The art per panel is nice to look at but it just has no consistency in continuity to bring about any spatial awareness. It really brings down the story for me. The back up was fun but somewhat felt rushed.
