The Life of X arc reaches its conclusion and offers plenty of spotlight for fan favorites. Soule's work should be commended for creativity. While clearly working within the confines of Legacy's mandates, he manages to achieve real potential and a solid springboard for Xavier's future.

"A Man Called X," is a decent start to another story arc in which the X-Men will be required to deal with the aftermath of a man who has spent death in anything other than eternal rest and instead has been locked in endless torment. Naturally, no one comes back the same way they left. I'm sure Xavier will be no exception. The question is, will we be the better for it?

Even those who don't read DC Comics or enjoy their catalog as a whole should recognize the inspired work of writerSean Murphy and furthermore have the ability to acknowledge that a well-written story is hard enough to come by in our current period of comics but in 2018 White Knight truly stands among the strongest of those tales on a very high pedestal.

While an action packed issue, number 63 addresses and hints at small flaws in Catwoman's story that could very well take the series downhill.

Dazzler X-Song #1 is an insightful and well-made self-contained character story with strong relevant themes, propelling this often underused X-Woman forward. The decision of our lightengale to be a hero for everyone is a strong theme expected to follow her into Astonishing X-Men this summer.

The fourth volume of Hunter x Hunter has enough brilliant twists and turns by the end to make it worth a read, and thanks to its perfected art style, but its sometimes-excessive meandering and repetitiveness feel most clear here.

An outstanding issue that continues to raise the stakes of the Drowned Earth Saga. I am excited to see where Tynion and team take the story and what the Tear of Extinction leads to.

This is actually the ragtag combo I have been wanting for years. As the admin for the New Mutants fan page, I watch fans wage endless debates over which era was better. The original troupe or post-Inferno. For me, I love the New Mutants and that means, I love them all.

Issue #3 gains serious momentum as unexpected events unfold that provide clarity to the purpose of the mixed roster as well as a hint toward Karma's enigmatic and seemingly nefarious intent behind the team's reformation which not only provides some much-needed connection for the reader, but also confirms that the overall 5 issue series is interwoven into a greater plot yet to be revealed.

While this is a flashback issue, it is all done with original art and a unique format. While the bottom half of the pages relate history, the top half entails a current mission that opens leads to the next volume, Ninja-K, which will be written by Christos Gage.

More novel than comic book, Sacred Creatures commands attention. Its ability to shape elaborate details while retaining a simplicity that shrugs clich tropes and devices propels this series into a class of true standouts and one of the best newcomers of the year.

Spirits of Vengeance is a unique book within the current Marvel catalog. The story, artistic design, and colorful display hit all the right marks. If youre a fan of the supernatural genre and enjoy religious iconography and themes, this is the book for you.

Whether you have invested interest as a longtime fan or exploring these characters for the very first time, Spirits of Vengeance, re-envisioned by brilliant imagination of Victor Gischler and company is absolutely addicting and a true standout from the rest of Marvel's current comic line.

In the fifth and final issue, Spirits of Vengeance attains sheer victory and is likely among the short list of Marvels better series of the past year. Or two. Maybe three

The Black Order is a breakout story where being bad is oh so good.

A wild intergalacticride that breathes excitement into a masterful tale complete with action-packed stunning visuals, all while you're rooting for the bad guys for a change!

This is a must-read for Wonder Woman fans who are preparing themselves for theTrial of the Amazons. As if Medusa wasn't bad enough, a new threat looms under Themyscira, and the Amazons should be very, very afraid.

This issue for all intents an purposes bridges the gap between the events after Brynetec and Diehard's next move. Though by no means a standout, the events and story within issue #7 is one of necessity in order to provide the context for the plot to move forward.

Rob Towe and Chad Bowers continue onward with sure footing and real determination in the clear effort to make this series of Youngblood speak to longtime fans and attain the one thing that has alluded previous volumes and creative efforts. Consistency and longevity. With multiple layers of plots being laid and executed well, they could achieve just that.

The stakes continue to get bigger with every issue. For readers who are seeking alternative comics within the heroic team genre but looking for a book which is truly forging its own path without the strict control of larger publishers and editorial edicts, Youngblood may well fit that bill.

Issue 11 marks exciting new twists in the return of an old foe. One which is probably the most powerful and deadly the team has faced yet as the highly anticipated Blood War begins.
