If you read only one series this summer, 4001 A.D. should be it. Gorgeous depictions and an exciting story make this book a sure winner.

4001 A.D. #3 is the best book yet in the series. This is a slick-looking book with an exciting storyline that will have readers jaws dropping with its many holy cow moments. This one is going to be hard to top, and readers will be anxious for the last installment of the miniseries.

4001 A.D. War Mother #1 should be on everyones required reading list, regardless of if you are reading the summer event. Van Lente and team have gifted us with a terrific new hero.

Bloodshot U.S.A. #1 is a thrill-ride that will make you beg for more. This should be first on your reading list this week. Dont discount this event as filler or being done for shock value. As with all of Lemires work, there is more depth here than just an action-adventure story. Fans of Bloodshot and of the larger Valiant Universe will enjoy this engrossing tale.

Bloodshot U.S.A. #2 is a doozy. The exciting storyline, character building, and some surprise reveals make this a must-read.

Bloodshot U.S.A. #4 is an exciting, satisfying end to a miniseries that has added complexity to the cast of characters and the world they inhabit. It shouldnt go without notice that the series ended as it began, at the door of a hotel room. It brings the story full circle yet is also indicative of the transitory nature of Bloodshot, moving from mission to mission and location to location.

Hot Hot Hot! The story is heating up with pulse-pounding action and a quest to discover the truth. The terrific art in this book by LaRosa and Reber make Lemires story jump off the page. The arc concludes in the next issue. Dont miss out. This feast for the eyes will be an arc you will want to read again and again.

Bloodshot Salvation #2 is superbly written and depicted....This engaging book should not be missed.

Outstanding art and an engrossing story make this book an absolute-must.

Book of Death: The Fall of Harbinger is a must-read for any Valiant fan. Emotional and intelligent, this story of endings leaves readers with such a sense of peace and hope, that it isnt an ending at all, but a rebirth. Like a phoenix rises from the ashes.

Book of Death: Legends of the Geomancer #3 is the strongest book thus far in the miniseries. The reveals regarding the Geomancer lore make this a must-have. The next issue will conclude the miniseries. If the teaser is any indication, readers will learn the outcome of this books act as well as the beginnings to the stories of several familiar faces.

Book of Death: Legends of the Geomancer #4 is a must-read. Exciting and revealing, this issue is a page turner until the very end. It is not only about the birth of the Geomancer, but also the reactionary birth of something quite the opposite.

Britannia #1 is a unique and engrossing tale. Readers will be clamoring for the rest of the story, and they just might need a stiff drink and a smoke afterwards. This should be your first read on new comic book day.

Britannia #2 is a chilling read that will keep readers riveted. The unique story coupled with the striking art make for an addictive miniseries. Pick this one up right away before it sells out the first issue is already on its third printing.

Allow yourself to be mesmerized by Britannia #3. This third book delves deeper into superstition and magic, but keeps one foot firmly on the ground as Axia chases leads into dangerous territory. This is a smartly written tale occurring in an atypical time and place, effectively illustrated and colored to the greatest effect. Fans should be looking forward to the conclusion of this thoroughly enjoyable miniseries. Hopefully it wont be the last we see of the Detectioner.

Britannia #4 goes out with a bang, concluding this historical thriller. A compelling tale reinforced by evocative art, this book and the mini-series as whole will resonate with readers. Britannia is a distinctive title, but may be described to laymen as a Roman version of the X-Files. Fans will want to believe that we havent heard the last from the detectioner.

Fans of mystery and horror will find much to enjoy about this well-done book and will be clamoring for more.

Milligan and company knocked it out of the park with this one. The story is absorbing and is a visual treat. The biggest disappointment is having to wait until the next issue to find out what happens next.

Divinity III: Stalinverse #1 is an outstanding story and an absolute must-read. Imaginative, thrilling, and good-looking, the only downside to this book is having to wait for the next installment.

Divinity III: Stalinverse #3 is an absolute must-read. Bursting with surprises, action, and glorious art, this well-crafted story will be one that you will read and re-read for years to come.

Divinity III: Stalinverse #4 is an absolutely masterful ending to the mini-series. This is it– the final culmination of the Divinity I, II, and III mini-series. Do not miss out on what may be the best book of the entire run.

Divinity III: Kamandar Bloodshot #1 is an absolute must. It is an accompaniment to the main Divinity III event, but the book shines on its own. Its a gut-wrenching story with the added bonus of an introduction to a powerful new Valiant heroine.

Faith #9 is a self-contained story full of heart and charm. Beautiful in appearance and sentiment, this feel-good book will be a fan favorite.

Humor, heart, and adventure abound as the heroes attempt to save history and time itself.

Hopefully a copy of the X-O Manowar FCBD Special was readily available on Free Comic Book Day. Jam-packed with excellent stories and art, this book offers a peek into Valiants thoughtful and exceptionally executed universe.

Harbinger Wars 2 #1 is loaded with action and emotion. If you read one event this year, it needs to be Harbinger Wars 2. Its extensive cast, featuring cross-title characters and the expansive, universe-impacting storyline make this potentially one of the most important stories in the Valiant universe to date.

If the outstanding Harbinger Wars 2 Prelude #1 is any indication, Valiant Entertainment's Harbinger Wars 2 event will be the hottest thing going this summer. Both stimulating and thought-provoking, Prelude serves an excellent lead-in to the event and should be considered one of their best single issues to date.

Imperium #2 is my pick for book of the week. Great character development, interesting plot lines, and strong visuals make this an enjoyable read. The implications of and theories about this book are going to keep its fans excited for the next installment.

Imperium #3 is the strongest book in the series thus far. Rich character development, depth of feeling, and an engaging plot make this book a standout. Reading it was not unlike what Sunlight On Snow called his "algodonic state" " observing beauty and feeling sadness simultaneously.

Imperiums Broken Angels IV: Something Greater Than Yourself ends the arc on a high note. Intelligent and entertaining, this books title proves prophetic for its characters on more than one level. Highly recommended read.

Imperium #10 is an exciting and revealing read, and one of the best books in the series. Unlike some back-stories, this book exposes secrets and provides the necessary understanding for the importance of the next part of the Imperium story, setting the stage for the mayhem to come. This book should be your first read on new comic day.

Imperium #13 is building to a crescendo. It left us and Livewireon a high wire. Im looking forward to seeing who will be the man who crashes to Earth.

Imperium continues to be one of Valiants most sophisticated books in terms of plot and character development. It challenges readers to think outside the box without the entanglement of a convoluted continuity. New readers can jump aboard the series with relative ease while established fans will enjoy the depth of development. This issue aggressively pursues plot while still providing rich character insight, making this one of the strongest issues yet. If you havent yet tried out Imperium, this is the arc to do it in.

The battle may be over, but Haradas story is not. Dysart has also seeded future stories within this ending. Do not miss this outstanding book. This story will have lasting ramifications on the Valiant Universe and in the hearts of readers.

NINJA-K #4 is bloody good. Its strong story development and gripping art raise the bar for action/suspense books " as well as readers' heartrates.

Rai #14 is a standout. Fine storytelling and beautiful illustrations make this one of the best books of the month. Be sure to pick this up even if you are not following the 4001 A.D.event. With its succinct but informative prologue, new users can and should jump on board.

Livewire's gun hands are locked and loaded for Secret Weapons #1. This captivating story embraces science fiction while feeding our need genuine emotion and human connection. Do not miss out on this stunning book.

Good pacing, thoughtful characterizations, and a dash of mystique along with excellent physical storytelling make Shadowman #1 an essential read.

The story's tension and urgency will make this a great read in trade format. It will also serve as an excellent introduction to the Valiant universe.

I give Unity 17 my highest rating. Kindt and team created an illuminating character piece that humanized one of the most enigmatic and wondered-about characters in the Valiant Universe.

In Valiant High, the freaks and geeks of the Valiant Universe rule the school. This fun book is full of win. A great choice for all ages without coming across as too young for adult readers. Dont miss out on this fun reimaginingof the Valiant Universe.

Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #6 is an exhilarating read with just the right amount of intrigue to get readers excited to learn the secrets behind the upcoming Labyrinth arc. Dont miss this one, its one of the best yet in this series.

X-O Manowar #50 is a must-not-be-missed book. This is a landmark issue that not only closes this particular chapter of X-Os adventures, but offers readers both a fitting tribute and a future. Special thanks go out to writer Robert Venditti for his work on this title. You are a definitive Valiant voice.

X-O Manowar #3 is the culminating piece is this arc of determination and ascension. Its intense and driven. Dont miss out this excellent book.

This is a book that Valiant should be proud of and that readers should not miss.

Britannia: Lost Eagles of Rome #1 will delight fans of historical fiction and mystery. This strong first issue leaves readers excited to continue the adventure and follow Axia into the unknown.

Britannia: We Who Are About To Die #3 takes readers on a thrilling and dangerous ride fueled by desperate fear.

Divinity #1 provides plenty of history and sets up an intriguing new character within the current Valiant universe. The source of Abram's new powers is likely only one of many revelations. With three books left in the series, we are left with many questions to be explored in what promises to be a highly entertaining series.

The end of the world has never been more fun.

Harbinger Wars 2 #0 provides a strong background and compelling story that readers are sure to enjoy.

Harbinger Renegade #5 is a powerful, complex story and a powder keg of emotions. The story will stun readers. This book is an absolute must-read for fans of the Valiant universe. The ramifications of this story change everything.

The Peter Pan mythos has been reinvented before, but Wiebe and Jenkins' WWII take on the story is one of my favorite versions of it. Wiebe interweaves the brashness and joy of youth with the hardships and horrors of war, turning this into a somber yet heartening coming-of-age story. This particular issue is not a good jumping on point for new readers, but those who have been following the story, even loosely, should be able to pick it back up as we experience the joys of the characters' Parisian reunion and the stress of living under constant threat. Another dynamic Peter/Hook confrontation is looming, and I can't wait to see what both of them have up their sleeves.

For a good time, pick up Quantum and Woody #1. Funny and endearing along with fantastic art, this book will turn readers into "hastag #klang-heads". Don't miss out.

Secret Weapons #0 is a must-have for Valiant fans. This touching portrayal of one of the newest heroes in the Valiant Universe will whet your appetite for more Secret Weapons " and Nikki.

The preview for the next issue, Warmonger, was a bit disturbing. Looking forward to another interesting read by Kindt and company.

War Mother #2 is so, so good. Excellent writing and beautiful depictions make this a standout.

War Mother #3 is rich in turmoil: physical, emotional, and psychological.

If you haven't been reading this miniseries, go pick them all up. This Valiant femme is collection-worthy.

Harbinger Renegade #6 is a solid and engrossing story that lays the groundwork for the upcoming Harbinger Wars 2.

The “Summer of 4001 A.D.” is marching on. 4001 A.D. #2 fans that flame and is a sure pick of the week. If you read only one series this summer, 4001 A.D. should be it.

4001 A.D. #4 is a gratifying end to the event miniseries. It is both an epilogue and a promise of a tantalizing new future. The synergy between the copy and art make this book, and the event as a whole, a must-read.

4001 A.D.: Bloodshot #1 is an entertaining and deeply satisfying story. This is a great companion piece to this summers 4001 event and to the mythos surrounding Bloodshot. It gives readers an ending they need as well as a new beginning they will want. Beautifully illustrated and colored, this book will be a standout in the series.

4001 A.D.: Shadowman #1 is a satisfying read with a surprise for fans at the end, giving the story potential for both a strong prequel and sequel. It is a good companion to the event series and challenges readers to question the definition of monster.

Unconventional and novel, this buddy adventure will catch you off-guard and have you saying thats my bag, baby.A&A hits shelves March 16th.

Bloodshot Reborn Annual 2016 #1 might not be what readers are expecting, especially those who are deeply invested into the current Reborn series. Thoughtfully developed, this book does for Ninjak what none of his other tales have yet done for him: made him completely admirable and likeable. This story is a must-read, especially for fans of the larger Valiant Universe.

You cant help but to root for Faith, whose inherit goodness shines like a beacon. Faith is a role model, and fans will want to #FlyLikeFaith alongside her on this adventure.

Generation Zero #4 is a solid book and a good addition to your shelf. Van Lente and team have crafted a multi-layered story with an underlying mystery that feels almost too large to be contained to one arc. The drama is building up to a large confrontation in the next book. Will it end in a checkmate or a draw, and is this just a single game within a larger match?

Generation Zero #7 is paving the way to the conclusion of this adventure. This book breaks the mystery barrier and gives readers interesting new twists along with some needed answers. This book is a necessity for readers of the series.

Harbinger Renegade #3 is the strongest offering yet from this new title. The setups of the earlier two is starting to pay off for readers. Roberts is playing his cards close to the chest, not yet revealing what will be the crux behind the upcoming Harbinger Wars II, but you can bet Solomon will be in the mix.

Imperium #7 is a well-crafted story that furthers the tale of Toyo Harada in his quest to remake the world. The inclusion of Divinityadds another dimension to this thought-provoking story, the outcome of which will reverberate throughout the Valiant universe and leave readers clamoring for more.

In these uncertain times, its important to know who your friends are. Thats the commercial slogan of a certain dubious entity in Imperium. It also speaks to the delicate position of several characters in the story, possibly foreshadowing upcoming events. Imperium #9 is a master chess game and should be on your must-read list.

Imperium #11 is a thrill ride that keeps accelerating and it hasnt come to a stop yet. Ending on a cliff-hanger, this exciting read hits shelves on 12-16-2015. Pick it up and read it first.

Imperium #12 marks the end to one of the strongest arcs in a series that just keeps getting better and better. Well-written and painstakingly illustrated, this book will keep readers fully engaged and anxious for the next installment.

Jem and The Holograms #1 debuts as a solid reboot of the 80s cartoon. With its vivid art and winning characters, this eye-catching book will appeal to both new readers and old fans. If the story lines and dialogue continue to be all-age accessible, IDW will have a hit with this musical group.

Jupiter's Circle #1 is less of a superhero story and more of a humanistic tale. It examines the humanity behind the masks, showing that these seemingly super beings are just as fragile as the rest of us. Fans of Jupiter's Legacy will undoubtedly enjoy seeing the characters in their prime and the foreshadowing of what will come to be.

Its the end of the world as he knows it, and Ninjak isnt fine. Ninjak #17, the final chapter in the Siege arc, changes everything for Ninjak. The surprise ending may even change the future of the Valiant Universe. Dont miss out on the revelations in this issue.

Ninjak #18 is a solid story that builds bridges between the past and the future foretold in Book of Death. Offering both an interesting mystery and a burgeoning camaraderie, Ninjak #18 should absolutely be on your pull list.

Ninjak #19 is an entertaining read. More than just a spy thriller, this book offers adventure, witty humor, science, and magic. This arc promises to be a significant chapter in the Ninjak saga. Pick this one up. You wont be disappointed.

Ninjak #23 is a thrill ride through a gauntlet of challenges both physical and psychological. Surprises and action abound along with stronger character definition. The Seven Blades of Master Darque is promising to be one of the biggest and baddest Ninjak arcs yet.

Glorious art and an updated classical tale make this book a Halloween treat.

Princess Leia #1 is the first in a five issue mini-series. Although it does alter some of our perceptions of certain characters, it still offers a strong and unexpected plot that has a lot of promise for future adventure. We won't have long to wait for the next issue which is out on March 18. Now that the groundwork has been laid, I'm looking forward to seeing if this adventure takes off.

The Death Defying Doctor Mirage: Secret Lives #1 is a pleasure to read. Strong characters, an intriguing story, and unique art make this book a treat. Looking forward to the next issue.

The Death Defying Doctor Mirage: Secret Lives #2 raises the stakes and takes readers deeper into the secret lives of paranormal experts. This is an excellent miniseries and shouldn't be missed.

Overall, The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage: Second Lives #3 delivers. The plot pacing is tight, providing a variety of emotional charges as readers reel from despair then catapult into action, leaving us waiting breathlessly for the axe to fall. De La Torres classic haunted feel is bolstered by Barons evocative coloring. Bernards clean lines, adeptly inked by Palmer, are showcased in the daytime outdoor scenes, and their brightness provides a normalcy and strong contrast to the murk and mystery of the Mirages lives. Next issue is the conclusion to the miniseries. Dont miss out on this unique story of love eternal.

The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage: Second Lives #4 does not disappoint. Readers who have been following this miniseries will be satisfied with both the story itself and the beautiful depictions of their world. Our heroes find a resolution to the immediate threat, but not without some unexpected events. There is a sense of closure and a message of the hope that love brings, along with a hint that something wicked this way may come.

The Manhattan Projects: The Sun Beyond The Stars #1 is a new beginning for this “better living through science” series. With its setting in the wilds of space and containing even wilder science, the series should be a fun read for fans of science fiction and is a great follow up to the initial 25 issue run.

Valiant High #2 is a jocular and entertaining read that should delight fans new and old. Pick this one up and get ready to go back to school.

Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #8 screams metal. Gnarly and thrilling, this book is ramping up for a major showdown while teasing readers with intrigue. This should be your first read on new comic day.

The X-O Manowar Annual 2016 #1 should be on your short list this week. Solid, entertaining, and well-executed, this annual is a good expansion upon the X-O lore.

X-O Manowar #42 is a satisfying and enjoyable read. A solid storyline, good character development, and beautiful art make this an essential read.

The one truth among comics is this: X-O Manowar 46 is an engaging and thoughtful story that looks as good as it reads. Its a fine finish for the Kill List arc and sets up the next arc in a big way.

X-O Manowar #47 is an exhilarating and striking book that will get your adrenaline pumping. Part of the arc leading up to the momentous issue #50, this needs to be in your must read pile even if you are new to the character.

X-O Manowar: Commander Trill #0 is an enjoyable storyline that enhances the ongoing X-O saga. Tying in with current events, it also shines a spotlight on an important antagonist, giving both him and his pathos understandable depth. X-O fans should definitely pick this one up.

Faith #5 features notable writers and artists. There aresome minor issues that disrupted complete immersion. Otherwise, this is a traditional Faith book filled with the optimism and good heart of one of comics most admirable new heroes. It introduces a viable new threat and hints at what is to come for our intrepid hero and encourages readers to be an active part of the government process. This should definitely be added to your Faith collection, and if past performance is any indicator, will likely sell out given its inclusion of relevant political persona.

I think Four Points has potential to be a good story but could benefit from a bit of decompression to help solidify the characters and action. Elemental powers, beautiful women, and fast-paced action will appeal to readers looking for something beyond the classic bad guy approach. It hasn't yet been revealed why the attacks are happening in random locations around the world or who the chosen horsemen are. I'm wondering if the classical fifth element will be incorporated into the storyline. The book ended on a high note, giving a peek at the final member of the team, one who is known to Aspen readers. I'm new to Aspen and didn't recognize the character, but it didn't prevent me from following along. There's lots of potential here. Fans of compressed stories will likely find this book a satisfactory read.
