Dec 06, 2017I hope that this isn't the last time we see War Mother. This was a compelling series full of action, suspense, character-driven drama, and great world building. It's also a rather straightforward story, a slight departure from Van Lente's typical work, which is more humorous, clever, and structurally playful. Of course, after reading Ivar: Timewalker, just about anything comes off as simple and straightforward in comparison. Dr. J gives this an" Read Full Review

Outright Geekery - Christopher Amundson
Sep 26, 2017Fred Van-Lente does an excellent job driving this comic right down main street, making us feel like the Mother and Child's bonds can't be broken, or are extremely tight, but gives us zero definition to their bond. Read Full Review

Oct 03, 2017War Mother is doing some bizarre and gorgeous storytelling. It has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the 4001 A.D. line from Valiant. The nest issues promise to be insane, so the best is yet to come. Read Full Review

Oct 01, 2017This issue progresses the story along nicely, and tees up the next issue well. The art from Segovia is excellent, a nice blend of color, and let's just call it, Ana and Flaco just look pretty goddamned cool together. An enjoyable title and a successful second issue. Looking forward to the next installment. Read Full Review

Sep 27, 2017I'm probably not going to review the rest of the series. I'll read it, but it's doubtful that there's going to be any big changes in the next two issues. If there are, I'll be back to cover it, but if not then you can assume my scores for the last two will be the same as this review. It's an average comic, but more than just being average it reveals a growing problem at Valiant, too many of their mini-series and limited series are forgettable. I hope they'll get back to the time a few years ago when they released nine solid titles each month, and you wanted to read all nine. Read Full Review

The cover is beautiful ... I love this painting style. The story is really good too. But I don't fond of seen one of the teen acting like a sociopath. I was sad for the gun, and I was very enthousiaste with the cliffhanger. The art is perfect. Great work ... Very effective. I will be there for the two remaining issues.
