    ComicBook.com - Matthew Aguilar Jul 9, 2025

There's a genuine weight on Kal's shoulders that comes through the page, and amid all the grey is someone who just wants to help people. It's a compelling conflict that doesn't have any easy answers, and as we see in this issue in particular, it's incredibly easy to lose hope. At the center of it is a man who simply refuses to, and hopefully those who need him most will finally stop pushing him away. This is all part of what makes Absolute Superman one of the best in the comics, and Absolute Superman #9 is no exception. Read Full Review

Absolute Superman #9 is a powerful and visually stunning issue that puts the Man of Steel through the wringer. The Aspiring Kryptonian - Tasmin Humphries Jul 10, 2025

Absolute Superman #9 continues to impress. This series has been stellar so far, there is not a single issue that I haven't liked so far. This Superman story is exciting, new and really does keep us guessing, but it also has that sense of familiarity, which for me is the perfect balance. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke Jul 9, 2025

Absolute Superman #9 delivers gripping action and character-driven moments, especially for supporting players like Lois and Jimmy, while continuing to build a darker, more grounded mythos for the Man of Steel. Yet despite the emotional beats and high stakes, Superman himself remains oddly undefined. He's more symbol than person. Still, the issue offers plenty of reasons to stay invested as the final act nears. Read Full Review
