The Walking dead is the same thing all over again. Good people find shelter, bad people find the good people, bad people and good people fight each other, good people (mostly died) and repeat...The writing is good even though the monologues are somewhat repetitive, the art is excellent but after all these years it has been a lot of the same formula over and over again with cliffhanger after cliffhanger and fake hype like "this event will change the world"(TV show has the same fate). For me the best run was until the prison-governor arc (#1 - #80)one of the best arcs ever). After that the series gotten a bit stale but it was still very good. Then Kirkman introduced a caricature villain (Negan) who is mostly popular because he's edgy and swear a lot so that makes him hilarious (if you are 12 years old). In my opinion the best ending would have been in issue 150. After the all out war, move the time forward and use the remaining 25 issues to finally rebuild the world. Instead of that we get ANOTHER bad group of people, another war (whisperer war it's a discount all out war), and now we have one of the best characters, who he/she is part of the soul and heart of the walking dead, probably dead.......If the character lives still that doesn't change my opinion.
Ok sorry for my rant but this is the end for me. I didn't like the current direction but i remain loyal because i wanted my conclusion after all these years. I don't regret it. It was a nice journey and i'm happy that it became so successful because it was something fresh and unique. I hope the rest of you to continue enjoy and buy the comic.....
Farewell Walking Dead.
