Celeste Bronfman lays another rancid egg. MJ talks like a discount Batman for some reason, we learn Felicia was cheating on Peter with her new squeeze Amelia and was never truly in love with him, and Bronfman forgets the only world building she did with the magical god device which now has no limits whatsoever, eliminating what little cleverness this concept ever had. Only for those who have never read a comic before and want to turn off their brain while looking at pretty pictures

Nonsensical character assassination trash. Nick Lowe once more proves himself to be the worst editor at Marvel, approving this festival of stupidity and allowing it to see print as is.

What a miserable wet fart waste of trees this was. Absolutely shameful this saw print.

If you thought the first issue of Jackpot and Black Cat was mid, you haven't read bad yet.
Bronfman continues on her merry march of character assassination. Last issue she turned Mary Jane Watson into a melodramatic parody of Batman. This issue she annihilates Felicia Hardy, turning her into a callous liar who doesn't care that her and her girlfriend's larcenous blackmail scheme is cau

Much of NYC is out to KILL MARY JANE WATSON! Including BLACK CAT?! There's something sinister going on, and it's tied to a classic Marvel villain with ties to our co-stars!

LUCK BE THE LADIES!
The most exciting new hero in the Marvel U, JACKPOT, A.K.A. Mary Jane Watson, gets her first action-packed limited series as a super hero alongside the other best female character in comics, BLACK CAT! When someone blackmails Black Cat into a public and blatant crime spree, Jackpot comes to her aid! What classic Spider-Vill...
to be honest, as a whole I got to say this event was bland, mediocre, and forgettable. I dont know what it is, but from what I'm reading, it feels like its devoid of passion and doesnt have that much effort at all.
Spidey literally gets his butt kicked multiple times in this event, then he talks about his feelings to Madame Masque, then wins the day by shooting out webs into her gauntle

GANG WAR CONCLUSION!
Madame Masque makes the power move she's been waiting to make her entire life. This is not going to go the way you think it will!

Only thing I disagree with is calling JRJRs art "clean.†I see what you mean in some panels but a lot of it is just sloppy to me.
Oh boy. My whole idea for going into this was "I hate the idea, but this might work", since that has happened before. But gotta say, I hated this issue. Might be one of the worst issues I've read in a while. I have so many problems here. The opening pages do not convey at all that they are here because of their dead adopted children. They might've progressed through it, who knows. The last time we more

Character assassination in action. Or what I like to call "How to Turn Mary Jane into Mary Sue in just one issue."
There is no functional story here and Jackpot is literally a character that has all their flaws fixed instantly, and Mary Jane who has no combat experience suddenly gets perfect hand to hand combat. This isnt Mary Jane, this is some random BS.
Paul is still aro

I just don't get what Marvel is doing with Mary Jane's new "powers" and Jackpot persona. They are literally the embodiment of a deus ex machina plot device that allows writers the ability to pull things out of thin air. Even aside from the randomness of her powers, how/where/when did MJ become trained in hand-to-hand combat or superhero agility?? There are a few scenes where she doesn't use her p more

This book was awful and a horrible debut with some of saddest, unfunny dad jokes it's been my misfortune to read. The art was also choppy, pointing to Nick Lowe's office being yet again highly unorganized and not knowing what it is doing with a second artist needing to finish the issue. Mary Jane's powers were nonsensical and were just whatever writer Celeste Bronfman needed them to be - and since more

I almost cried when I read this issue. It's been so long since I've read an ongoing comic book featuring Peter Parker that actually starred Peter, not a juvenile manchild rubber action figure cartoon written by juvenile menchildren who have no idea how to write a literary story, just hollow cacaphonous spectacle. I'd forgotten what it was like to pick up a Spider-Man book and not immediately have more
