Seminal work. A complete deconstruction of the Mister Miracle that is great for people who have read every Mister Miracle volume and easily approachable for anyone else. Completely stands on it's own and if you like stories that dive a bit deeper into the human psyche, this story is for you.

A modern classic. What can I say, this is my favorite series from 2018 and probably one of my favorites of all time. Everything in this series is fantastic. The writing, the art, the goddamn art. It's fantastic! Honestly, this series has it all and skipping it would be a shame no doubt. I can't really say a lot about it without going into spoilers so just go and get it, it's a masterpiece.

Mister Miracle (2017) by Tom King and Mitch Gerads (DC) I get it, Tom King can be hit or miss (I didn't care for Omega Men or his Batman run). However, I found Mister Miracle a welcoming, truly original story that spoke to me and re-inspired me about the medium (at the onset of the pandemic). I think the climax of the story (issue #11) is damn near perfect. I was surprised to find out the story was a solicited project and not a pitched labor-of-love by King and Gerards (essentially, DC gave King a short list of three available characters he could use and he chose to write something on Mister Miracle). Took me a couple issues to get into it, but once I did, it was worth every moment spent on each page. Gerads art is great, and King captures human frailty, emotion, and motivation as a true storyteller should.

call me crazy, but this was oveerrated. I was more interested in seeing Mister Miracle deal with PTSD, but I didnt care if this was a "hallucination" or not. Vision and Omega Men were far better. That was my first review where I gave it a 5 out of 10. My updated review definitely changed, and I got to say. It's now a 9 out of 10. I think after going through a lot of stuff ofr two years definitely made me appreciate this book a lot more, and it has mature themes, and I love the ending where Scott Free knows that he's not in the real world, but he doesnt care because at least he will be with his family and live a peaceful life. As a long time fan of the New Gods I don't really understand all the good reviews for Mister Miracle. The characters aren't really in character& while you could excuse this happening to characters like Granny or Orion due to the outcome of the story you can't excuse it with Scott. He's acting and also looking like an alcohol addict& why you could argue, that he's a broken character due to his past, he still never would let him go so much. He isn't the kind of guy, who gives up like that as he does in this story. So it rather appears to me, that King forced this depression type of story on a character, he doesn't really understand.
