The epic, brutal crime tale continues. In the power vacuum left after the American invasion of Iraq, no one is safe. Comicosity - Matt Santori

And its that set of complications that draws me in, here and elsewhere, far from tales of the Great War and righteous fight against Hitlers troops in France. In a land where we sought to invade by telling ourselves we were protecting those who didnt want protecting, no story is simple. No motivation clear cut. And Sheriff of Babylon is capturing that sense beautifully. King and Gerads weave a terrible tale. But its one I cant look away from. Its too rich and its too messy, even in its graphic depiction and graphic perfection. Read Full Review

To close I'd like to say that normally I can't write reviews after the first few issues of a story. I get a strange writers block and feel like I've said all I need to but with the Sheriff of Babylon I could write about it all day. I love this series everything about it is incredible and I can't recommend it enough. Each issue is better than the last and each time I read them I find something I missed at first. It's smart, it's fun, shocking, it's captivating and it's a must read. Don't miss out on what will most likely be one of the best series to come out this year. Read Full Review

Seriously, Sheriff of Babylon #3 was just amazing. Every issue pulls you deeper into the mystery. I think that Tom King and Mitch Gerads definitely should count as one of comics' great teams because you can see the labor and research gone into every single panel and it's wonderful. Seriously, if you're a political thriller fan or you just like comics about (relatively) current events, you need to be reading Sheriff of Babylon. Read Full Review

Doom Rocket - Molly Jane Kremer

    Feb 08, 2016

Such finesse allows Sheriff of Babylon to be a quiet, nearly meditative comic, until it isn't. As is the case in a war zone, incidents of violence are quick, messy, startling (if not unsurprising)" and loud. Each of the three main characters find themselves constantly surrounded by dangers seen and unseen. This issue emphasizes that though they may be protected, none of them are truly safe. Wow. King and Gerads playing around with format. Just beautiful. I'm a format nerd and a 9 felt too low.  Read Full Review

Big Comic Page - Craig Neilson-Adams

    Feb 03, 2016

Overall, while may have taken its foot off the gas ever so slightly following that first issue, The Sheriff of Babylon remains a gripping, immersive read.  Rather than your run of the mill gung-ho war story, King and Gerads have created something altogether more cerebral; a complex, fascinating and shockingly brutal look at a troubled chapter in history through the eyes of three flawed yet utterly fascinating protagonists.  Highly recommended. Graphic Policy - Patrick Healy

    Feb 04, 2016

This is issue is more Tom Clancy than Dick Wolf, the art more like the storyboard for a tense political thriller than a dry "whodunit". Of all the fantastic books writer Tom King has on the stands right now, this is by the far the best. Not only standing above his own work, but towering above anything else being published at the moment. Mitch Gerads's course realism creates the perfect witness to danger and tension within this world. From his angles to his close-ups, he shows himself to be as much a cinematographer as a comic book artist from issue to issue. Read Full Review
