CONAN THE BARBARIAN #5 catches up with an older and jaded Conan for a new adventure that ties the present to the past. Zubs picture of a more mature Conan gives the series the weight of continuity and importance, while the addition of Braithwaite on pencils/inks is a welcome change in style. Read Full Review

New Story Arc begins in this issue. Jim Zub is clearly having a blast writing Conan again and his writing is top notch. Artist Doug Braithwaite does a great job with some very detailed panels. Yes, it's a change in style from the wonderful Roberto De La Torre, but it still looks great to me. There is a lot going on in this issue and it builds to a big cliffghanger. Though I was disappointed by the change in artwork style, I'm still enjoying this title. With a brand new arc, we are delving into Conan lore where is hired as a theif to steal a relic. However, this relic is cursed. I'm hoping to get a few more twists in turns in this plot unlike the last arc that was pretty straightforward.
