Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez
Sep 07, 2022BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS #2 is a superior entry compared to issue #1 as the storys stakes and drama bloom exponentially. The action is intense, the dramatic moments drip with tension, and the action is well-choreographed. Read Full Review

This is Mad Max, not Blade Runner. It doesn't feel anything like Blade Runner. Based on the cover, I was expecting a badass Blade Runner that looks like a ninja. Instead, we get a teenage-looking synth (which is weird) in a desert setting, who needs to help a human family. In addition, the art is horrendous. I'm out of this one. Canceling my subscription.

I'm all for the "corporations be evil" angle, but the inciting incident and motivation for the villain are at near cartoon levels of evil and would fit better in a Judge Dredd-type of story. The art actually seems to have gotten worse since the first issue.
