Blade Runner: Black Lotus' first issue lays excellent foundations for the miniseries ahead. It's a post apocalyptic thriller at its finest, I look forward to seeing how it evolves. Read Full Review

BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS #1 is a better-than-average start for a new Blade Runner adventure. The setup and character introductions are rock solid, as is the art. This is nothing like the other Blade Runner series. It's set in the desert in an almost apocalyptic environment. And the artwork is atrocious. It looks completely amateur or at least over-stylized. If Elle is a replicant, when did they start making children replicants and why? The whole thing is just weird. I like the idea of a samurai replicant, but this is just disappointing. I'll give it one more issue.

Doesn't feel like Blade Runner to me, feels like some generic dystopian future. It also assumes I have watched the anime and thus doesn't need to spend time developing the character.
