This was ok at best and all over the place at worse. Although we know who killed Wanda and got a new status quo for Krakoa, it feels like it missed the mark completely. The Trial of Magneto might be the biggest misnomer in comics this year, if not the last five. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - David Harth

X-Men: The Trial Of Magneto #5 has a good ending, but it also shows just how bad this book really has been throughout its run. It would have been a fine mystery book, but Marvel apparently had other plans for it, and it hurt things immensely. The ending doesnt do much to redeem the story and is even more frustrating because it could have been a great story if it had been done differently. Wernecks art is uneven, which is basically this book in microcosm. This comic is the ultimate missed opportunity, and its ending cant save it, even if its the best part of this five-issue tale. The Comicbook Dispatch - StoryBabbler

    Dec 22, 2021

X-Men: The Trial of Magneto #5 brings this chaotic mini-series to a close with unsatisfying results. The comic answers who killed Wanda, but the reveal is not as impactful as expected. On top of that, the comic adds a big revelation on top of the other that doesn't make things clearer but more confusing and convoluted than this series already is. Read Full Review
