Wolverine #41 successfully kicks off Sabretooth War, the new ten-part event that will conclude in Wolverine #50. Books with creative teams of this size can sometimes suffer from pacing or consistency issues, but the entire creative team here has delivered something that feels completely well executed. Something else that is impressive is how much story there is in just 28 pages. Plot Sabretooth of Earth 616 has already managed to convince the other versions that his plan to eliminate Wolverine is perfect, so they prepare to go to Krakoa to begin their revenge, of course, without knowing that this island is deserted since it is not There are mutants, only the Stark Sentinels guarding it. But Sabretooth has the Orchis ship's technology in control of him and begins to track Wolverine's location. His first victim is Quentin, who thought to go rescue Wolverine in this place by mistake and is literally devoured by the Sabretooths. Wolverine is at the North Pole leading the X-Force team made up of Akihiro, Laura, Sage, Black Tom, Fang and Domino. Wolverine senses that something is about to happen, that is when he r eceives an attack from the Sabretooths and they tear his son Akihiro to pieces... the war begins and Sabretooth is not going to hold back, unleashing his anger and cannibalism. The murder sequences in this comic are intense and gore (explicitly showing viscera and blood). This story arc will show how Sabretooth achieves revenge on him murder for murder in a gripping and fast-paced narrative. Art He has two artistic visions that merge perfectly, achieving detailed and dynamic sequences. The ending scene legitimately had my mouth agape from the brutality. This arc could very well be the most violent wolverine story if it continues and ramps up even more. The fact this is during the fall of x makes it even more devastating. Percy’s run has been brutal and fun as hell, and this arc doesn’t show any signs of that changing.

First of all, the art is fantastic for this issue. The characters are all well-drawn as is the gore that is present in the fights and other violence we see on the page. Plot-wise, we were promised the most violent Wolverine story ever told, and right out of the gate, there's no holding back. Characters die in incredibly gruesome ways, cementing Sabretooth as Logan's top baddie, as no other character has even come close to the violence and trauma he's dishing out on Logan already. And this is just the first issue! We will have to see where this all leads.

Wow. The best issue for this series since the Weapons of X storyline, in my opinion. I really liked Wolverine's paranoia towards the second half of this, and that ending was absolutely crazy. I second Texas VII's sentiments about it. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this goes.

First off, I found it strange to see the editor’s note specifying this issue takes place in between X-Force #50 and the FofHoX/RotPox event. The last X-Force released was only #47, which means we’ve now jumped ahead 3 issues there even though FofHoX/RotPox has already started. Perhaps this will make more sense as things unfold across the board, but this made me wonder if something got jumbled on Marvel’s release schedule and things were meant to release in a different order originally. Other than that, this was one of the best issues of Percy’s Wolverine run in a long time. While I had my reservations about another Wolverine vs. Sabretooth showdown, this blew me away in every way possible. Marvel’s solicitation didn’t lie wh en it said this would be the most violent Wolverine story ever told. Sabretooth isn’t messing around with his plans for Logan and he’s laying the groundwork for what will be a BLOODY confrontation once these two come to blows. Even beyond the gore, there was some great character moments for Wolverine as he interacted with his kids (some for the potentially the last time). It was all so well paced and balanced, kudos to Percy and Victor LaValle. Even more kudos should go to Geoff Shaw and Cory Smith who took this story took the next level with some truly gritty and gruesome visuals. We’re may be in for a treat with this event! more
