Aug 28, 2019This issue right here probably gave us one of the most heartfelt conclusions to an event that we have ever gotten in a while. Thor #16 wrapped this event up perfectly, addressed where the gods go from here, and what to expect next in Jason Aaron's final story to come. It wasn't too surprising to see where they were going with it, but it has been a long time coming. It would be madness to not want to see what happens as King Thor takes on this final foe. Aug 28, 2019If you love Thor, Asgard, WAR OF THE REALMS, and Jason Aarons run that started way back in 2012, this issue is a must buy to wrap up one of your favorite writers stories. However, if youre buying this issue looking for answers or incredibly outrageous plot twists, you wont find it here. This issue puts a nice bow on an unthinkable 7 year narrative that took Thor Odinson on an incredible hero journey through some highs and lows. However, even though Aarons THOR is done, his story still continues. With only 4 issues of KING THOR to go, this reviewer is pumped to find out how the story ends with future Thor and to see the REAL epic conclusion. Read Full Review

And still, feel pretty satisfied with what you read as an ending. If everything else is a tasty ice cream sundae, this issue serves as the cherry on top. It's been 7 years since the beginning of the run and damn it almost always delivered. I'll be sad when Aaron will leave but he gave us a masterpiece from beginning to the end. Again, this was a brilliant issue depicting why Thor is worthy and why we love him. I will miss Del mundo too, because it was this series that make me love his art. Long live the king

I'm gonna miss both creators on Thor. Of course, everyone has praised Jason Aaron for this amazing 7 year run. He turned the Thor universe from one of the most boring to one of the most entertaining comics with amazing characterization and stories, at least in my opinion. The Thor that started his run has gone through such a great character arc to where he is now, where he is a truly responsible king, working his hardest to fix every problem in the seven realms. Of course, there's a nice little teaser for the King Thor series, which will be truly epic. But as a sendoff for Aaron on the main Thor, this was a nice story to end on. Perfect portrayal of Thor and when the issue was getting a little to peaceful, the last page promised a great villain. The issue suggested Odin's mind is starting to go, which I guess is the explanation (like it or not) for why he's been so out of character. Also some great art from Mike Del Mundo on his final issue.

Prelude: The conclusion to Aaron's run on Thor before he finishes on King Thor, does this finale stand up to the hype? The Good: Whilst I've been on the fence with Michael Del Mundo's art, he shows his work off well here. Some parts were questionable but only minor offences. Aaron sets up the new status quo here for Thor, Valkyire, Loki, King Thor and more. A stunning highlight of his entire run, similar to the final issue of War of the Realms. Aaron shows off his Thor and his selflessness extremely well here and yet how unsuited Thor is to be All-Father. The Bad: Nothing much happens but that's to be expected from an issue like this. Our last look at all things Asgardian is heartwarming and charming -- and there's a strong pitch to Jason Aaron's final Thor miniseries, too. The visuals are of a piece with the rest of the volume -- talented work, in an "acquired taste" style -- and the wide-ranging script is lots of fun. This is a fine potential capstone for a GOAT run. "The capstone of Jason Aaron's Thor run" is gonna end up being a fiercely-contested title, though. I think my vote would go to the final issues of WotR.

Not as good as the previous issue. It's just a little boring, but I suppose it is necessary to tie up all the loose ends. Jason Aaron certainly had an amazing run on Thor.
