You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

Its inevitable that Stephens going to come back to Bleecker Street. MacKay and company are making a strong case for Clea being a major character moving forward. Issue #5 and the four issues that came before it show Clea to be a far more interesting character than Stephen has been in recent years. Even if shes not destined to be Sorcerer Supreme for a great deal longer, it would be really, really cool to continue to follow her after things get resolved for Marvels favorite Sorcerer Supreme. Strange #5 continues to be enjoyable thanks to satisfying resolutions while building on what we know about the magical realm. Above all else, this series continues to be infused with new ideas that build on Marvel canon in ways that are exciting and new. For a publisher who has put out comics for decades and rarely trades new ground, Strange is a satisfying tableau of new ideas. Read Full Review

A secret hidden in plain sight comes to the forefront in a truly delightful team-up issue of 'Strange' that moves Clea's story and her new world forward in big ways that surely will have ripples for quite some time. 'Strange' is a magically dark and character-rich series that is a delight to dive into month after month, fully showcasing the power of comic books. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge

Having not kept up on the recent Moon Knight work, it was definitely a fun crossover to have here and a fairly natural one after the events of the previous issue. I do like the confrontation that we get with Clea and the Harvestman and you certainly want to go back and re-examine previous issues with him now that we know their identity and how it reshapes conversations. The use of Death is always a little dicey in books like this to begin with - it's such an impermanent fixture - but it's something that does work when playing with the Sorcerer Supreme characters and what they're involved with. Definitely need more time with Clea's mom tho. Read Full Review

And so finally we have a hope that Clea can do what she has set her mind to from the start and bring Stephen Strange back from the dead. All she has to do is wrest control of him from the cold grip of Death herself. Easy...right? This is going to be FUNNNN!!! Read Full Review

I really liked this issue, beginning with her mother, her night out with Moon Knight and finally the big reveal. This was a well-crafted issue that kept the pages turning. Nice work Jeb Mackay. I'm looking forward to the next one.

We have a random night on the town with Moon Knight, which makes me start to wonder where this is going, but then Jed MacKay got me good with the reveal at the end. What a twist!

Clea and Moon Knight make a great combo, and the way Clea learns from him is handled very well. The action is fun and the art's pretty dang gorgeous. I'm conflicted about the twist. It makes sense and I really like it. I think this issue could have handled its revelation better, though. The penny dropped for me very early on, and it was a little painful to wait 15 pages for Clea to catch on too. I'm super glad this series isn't ending at #5 or 6.

This series has felt a little formless by comparison to McKay's best work (and merely adequate art from Ferreira isn't helping), coasting primarily on McKay's excellent understanding of Clea. The stovetop's hot but the tea never quite gets served. But an excellent final page twist extends the as-yet unfulfilled promise of this series, and opens the door to some actual movement beyond Clea just kind of wandering around looking cool and not really making any progress on resurrecting her husband, so hopefully things pick up from here.

Another disappointing issue, mostly featuring another massive battle instead of a plot.
