Comicsverse - Ronnie Gorham
Oct 11, 2018SPIDER-GEDDON has a pretty interesting plot -- any excuse to put a bunch of Spider-Men in one book is okay with me. The villains feel a bit plain but maybe they'll have a few tricks up their sleeves. I have high hopes that this sequel will deliver a solid story that most readers will enjoy. Read Full Review

Oct 10, 2018Spider-Geddon's first issue makes the positioning and mixed successes of all its prequel issues feel mostly worth it with a fun, dynamic, and somewhat flighty debut that promises seemingly spectacular things to come. Read Full Review

Oct 10, 2018Spider-Geddon is a book that isn't afraid or ashamed of what it is " instead, it reaches to be the best popcorn adventure story it can possibly be, and if this debut is any indication, it might very well succeed. Read Full Review

Black Nerd Problems - Chris Aiken
Oct 11, 2018For any fans of Spider-Verse, just wait until the end of the issue. Gage goes for the jugular and makes a statement about the consequences of Otto's mistake. The Inheritor's return means serious business for our Spider-Friends and this introduction to Spider-Geddon makes sure to let everyone know that no one is safe. Read Full Review

We The Nerdy - Kyle Simcox
Oct 11, 2018The important issues leading up to this event are "The Superior Octopus" and "Spider-geddon #0", so if you skipped those two then it may feel a little rushed, especially where Doc Ock is concerned. However, the first issue of Spider-geddon is a fast paced and brutal start to the event as for the Marvel universe and it's Spider-Men? They're going to be in for quite a fight and more of them are undoubtedly going to die. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Brandon Masters
Oct 24, 2018If youre a Spider-fan, youve already picked this book up. While Spidergeddon #1 isnt the best Spider-Man single issue ever printed, it opens up the door for what looks to be an interesting and solid event story. Indeed, if its half as entertaining as Spider-Verse was, then itll be better than any main Marvel event released in the last few years. Read Full Review

Oct 10, 2018So far, I think I like this more than Spider-Verse. The first issue gets the ball rolling quickly, so it feels very much worth your time and money. Spider-Gwen fans like myself may be disappointed, but everyone else is in character. Molina and Curiel craft an exciting, fun world in a time of serious potential for tragedy. If you’re a fan of Spider-Verse, check it out. Read Full Review

Oct 10, 2018Spider-Geddon gets started in the right way, with an emphasis on fun. What could've easily been a cheap sequel nobody needed will end up being a joyride through the multiverse of Spider-People. It's a good time to be a fan of any Spider-Man (except Noir and UK). Read Full Review

Oct 16, 2018Like a big, visually exciting summer blockbuster, it gets your attention. Holding it by keeping the plotline fresh is going to be predominantly the responsibility of Christos Gage. Read Full Review

Oct 18, 2018This issue felt less of a #1 and more like a continuation. No real new ground was broken and it feels safe, almost like they are trying to draw out the success of the last series. The only thing is the luster is lost. Read Full Review

Epicstream - Jake Vyper
Oct 17, 2018Overall, Spider-Geddon #1 is a disappointing start. It's fascinating to see its massive cast of characters come together again but this chapter doesn't do much to give all of them a chance to shine individually and show what they can do as a team. Spider-Geddon #0 had more character development but things can still turn around in the next issue if Spider-Geddon finds a way to take this epic war into new directions. Read Full Review

ComicBook.com - Chase Magnett
Oct 10, 2018One element absent from that feature is the Inheritors, and this issue makes it clear why that is. Even when their complex history is succinctly explained, they remain visual non-entities, dragging down every colorful page they enter. What is far worse is how they replace excitement with cringes and confuse random death with stakes. Read Full Review

Haven't read the original Spider-verse story but feel like I got a hang of what's going on. The art is great! Plus I feel like Gage has a good feel on the Spider's he has been given.

Who are these reviewers saying this wasn't a fun comic?! I had a blast reading this. Though, he was a tad too villainous I can never get enough Superior octo!!

Great start. Heavy emphasis on Superior's role and i like it. 2 favorites are down because of him. Jorge Molina delivers some outstanding art, sharp and detailed. I love Curiel's colors over it. It's fun so i'm all in.

I didn't read Spider-Verse yet. I followed Web Warriors on the other hand. I find this issue logical, simple, effective & clear. Ho and very sad too. I like when miles explain why petter is left behind of this, or when Gwen do the same for Jessica. I missed the Indian Spider-Man & May (Spider-Woman ... But I count to follow Spider Girls !). So otto is good or try to be but stay in Hydra outfit. It's hard to trust, so I understand Spider-Britain. I like octavia so it's a pleasure to see her. But I don't understand why the Inheritor clone didn't kill right away all the team. It's not like they don't have the occasion. I'm sad for both dead (Maybe too quick) Cover - I take the punk Spider rocker version. Nice but not related. 1/2 Wr more

Otto acts a bit too villainous compared to his own issue during the fight. And we lost SPider-UK and Noir, that bad. But still, not a bad start. And since Peter didn't appear in this, other spider-characters go their chance to shine which is always a good thing.

I think this is a cool idea and I'm interested in where it goes, but I can't believe they killed my sweet British Spider-Angel.

I couldn't choose between a 7 or a 7.5, but given it felt over as quick as it began and poor Noir... I am leaning towards 7.
