it might not be for everyone, but its pretty great. Runaways is about a group of teenagers who find out their parents are part of an evil organization called Pride (dark wizards, time travelers, aliens). It takes a while to get into it but its really good. Marvel's underrated series are leagues better than DC's underrated series.

Aug 11, 2021I'm heartbroken that this seems to be the end of the Runaways' story for the moment, but they could not have gone out on a higher note. Read Full Review

Aug 11, 2021I would really like to take a moment to thank this creative team from the bottom of my heart. You all endlessly poured love into such a beloved and cherished group of characters. A cast that is loved so dearly by so many fans. This amazing creative team reunited a fractured and displaced group of friends back into becoming an unbreakable family. Thank you. Read Full Review

Aug 14, 2021This final issue feels a bit rushed, but the creative team finds plenty of chances for their usual strong character writing. The only problem is they pack with issue with one exciting cliffhanger after another! I want to see these teased stories so badly! Read Full Review

What? Who pulled the plug on this series? We still have loose ends to be tied up. Chase never followed up with Van from the Haul Mart. What the hell was Alex Wilder up to? What about Nico and Karolina? What about Chase? WHERE CAN I GO FOR MORE DOOMBOT?? The series was building momentum as is went, ending it now is just... wrong. WRONG I TELL YOU!!!!

A whole lot is happening and there's not enough time to process it all. Some things really are easier with the threat of things changing for the worse. It leaves me thinking about Nico in this instance. Sure she's let go of something that's addictive, but what's going to happen now that she's cut off from her power and (for the time) someone she loves. And there's something big coming for all of them in the form of someone "special".

An eventful finale breaks the team up, taking two core members out of the mix. I love these characters and I think this script treats them with great respect. They're also drawn beautifully; Andrés Genolet has a remarkable ability to express emotions with spare linework. But both of the main resolutions we get here (Gert's and Karolina's) are unsatisfying, feeling like we skipped key points along the way. ESPECIALLY with Karolina. I do like splitting the team up and the sequel hooks, though. And perhaps it is time to let a new creative team follow up on them. I'd wager pretty heavily that "we end at legacy #100" came down as an editorial edict and the author was forced to wrap up her plots faster than she wanted to.
