Marauders has been one of the best books in the X-Men line and frankly, Marvel's entire output since House of X and Powers of X shook up the status quo, and as a new era of Marauders is set to begin, Marauders #27 puts the satisfying finishing touches on the here and now with some tantalizing hints of what's in store. COMICON - Scott Redmond

As a new era of Marauders is on the horizon, the old one must come to a close as it wraps up a lot of dangling or long-running plotlines and leaves others to be explored potentially in the future. The artists that have brought the past few issues to life team up to give bright life to this montage of an issue, helping wrap things up in style. Read Full Review

Really solid and fun final issue with great dialogue. It sets up the next steps when this book comes back. I'm really looking forward to the next team and seeing how everything set up here plays out

A lot of changes, but also a lot to be excited about. I continue to think Marauders has the most potential of the X-books, but unfortunately, the lows have outweighed the highs. It's never been enough to make me drop the book, but patience has its limits. I did like the shakeup in power dynamics (minus the Cuckoos, just not a fan), and the correspondence from Shaw was a nice touch. I still think it's a bit silly that for a pirate-like crew, so few have water-based powers. It just seemed like a team made up of characters that had nowhere else to go. Pet peeves aside, I'm invested in seeing where the new direction leads.

Though I've been disappointed in the way this title has been drifting without a rudder, I like this finale. It's got great art, good character beats, and even some nice humor. It's a low-key conclusion, a comic where the author races to make his final status quo adjustments before bowing out. The changes are conveyed with skill and I find them interesting in themselves, so this is a pretty good comic in my eyes.

A decent enough series finale but I still can't shake the feeling this series never consistently lived up to what it was pitched as. Which is a shame because it had the potential to be a truly awesome X-Men comic series. That being said, I still enjoyed it overall.

This was fun. I don't really get the hate for this series in particular, beyond some loose plotting. I feel like the argument of filler is what these reviews should be about, but that's a lot of work when you can just say it's been bad forever.

This run started off great but really felt like it was treading water in the end and this issue just felt like it was written by another writer to go out on an unfortunate lull. Characters voices seemed off and felt very off base for a simple quick wrap up.

Average, slightly boring. I'm ready for a new direction for the Marauders.

An ending that reads like a cancelled book rather than one where the writer is voluntarily moving on. It's been clear for a while that this book wasn't going anywhere, but I'd hoped maybe Duggan could pull something interesting out for a finale. But no.

Thank God this is over, at least for now, this started out well but it was truly bad for some time now.
