Invincible Iron Man #16 is a must-read for Iron Man fans looking for an action-packed brawl with some supped-up armor. Nevertheless, that's about all we get this week. If you came to this issue looking for an epic battle between gigantic robots, you've come to the right place. The story here is enjoyable. The writing in this issue didn't all work for me, but overall this is good stuff in a good run. I made a mistake last issue; I thought Feilong had his own Gundam, not just a suit. (It would have been better if Feilong had his own Gundam)

I liked this issue as a whole, but I would have to classify it as the weakest issue of the series so far for me. I think it could be attributed to the way this book was formatted. I didn't dislike it or anything, but the fact that nearly every page (aside from one splash page) was a full page of art with no panels was a bit jarring. I'm not sure if I'm using that word correctly, but it kind of threw me off, if that makes more sense. This was the fastest I've read a book in a while, which isn't a bad thing. I just wish this had a little more substance to it.

Though this issue has plenty of action, there isn't a whole lot of story. Every page is a splash page. This could have been told in 10 pages rather than 20, so it's a bit of cop-out by Duggan. With respect to the tribute to Simonson & Buscema on the opening page. I would have preferred that the art team went more with Kirby who would have told this tale in fewer pages without losing the dynamic art. I did not want to buy a book just of poster art and I feel I have been short changed.
