I'll admit the concept cause me to roll my eyes when I first heard it but two issues in, the series is solid in so many ways and it actually shows a villain on his journey to be a hero. The comic feels very similar to the Invincible Iron Man, which is understandable when you consider the fact they share the same creative team. We're more excited about Infamous than Invincible, but things need to start happening soon. Read Full Review

Some people see Bendis name on a book and write it off immediately because his past is littered with some great books but also many terrible ones. This series is one of the great ones. I was hesitant at first but I'm really enjoying it and highly recommend picking it up. Doom is such a great character and so far Bendis is delivering a solid story. Go pick this one up! This new Doctor Doom series is good so far, and it has the potential to get really exciting, but so far it seems like Brian Michael Bendis is really dragging his feet on anything meaningful happening. If it wasn't for the Thing showing up and being such a jerk, I probably would've enjoyed this issue a lot more. Doom as Iron Man looks really cool and Bendis is setting up what could turn into a pretty fun story. As a single issue though, this was only okay. Read Full Review

I liked this issue--and am looking forward to the Doom/Thing confrontation--but the overall storyline is kind of plodding so far. I hope the pacing picks up next issue with our adversaries face to face.

Doom takes steps to right things in Latveria, but it looks like he'll have to deal with Mommy first. Mr. Bendis bears down and tells a *lot* of story by his standards, and Mr. Maleev's art is looking its best. It falls short of greatness only because the cliffhanger suggests that the next issue is going to be a barnburner.

Better at a glance but after you digest it there are too many WHY WHAT WHERE & HOW's that would not get a pass for any second issue into any lower profile title.

I love the art of Maleev and the coloring of Hollingsworth. They seem to understand each other and the art seems bleak and understated like a Doom comic should be. The story has its charming moments with Doom coming back to clean up and the interaction with Amara. Though the story is slow it seems that The Thing will forcibly push the story along to an action-packed climax.
