Weird Science Marvel Comics - Dispatchdcu

Now, as a single issue, this may not be as action-packed and graphic as were used to seeing. Nevertheless, to all those invested in this series, there has developed so much more than the HULK and I for one, like Lover Boy, am loving every minute of it. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin

    Jan 13, 2021

Immortal Hulk #42 is a wordy comic, packed with momentous conversations. Strong writing keeps us interested in everything that's said, and a large team of guest artists adds visual novelty to the multiple stories that are being told. Although this issue is short on superheroic action, it doesn't come close to disappointing. The title's characters face a lot of challenges here, and good creative work ensures that we're deeply committed to seeing how they deal with them. Read Full Review

Yes, this is a middle chapter strung between greater things with more hands helping to move it out the door, but The Immortal Hulk #42 still manages to deliver a story that's all killer, no filler. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Aaron Phillips

    Jan 13, 2021

Overall, this just felt like a messy issue and at all in tone with the amazing previous issues. One of the many standout points of this series is the time the plot takes to marinate and develop so that when there are big reveals it lands with a massive amount of gravitas. Sadly, Immortal Hulk #42 suffers from too many contrasting art styles and a lack of balance within the plot. Not a great performance, but there are threads of story developing that could be taken somewhere in the future. Read Full Review
