This second issue proves what I noted after Weapon Lost #1: this is far and away the best of the Hunt for Wolverine series of minis. Read Full Review

Soule and the art team stick to the noir style set in the first issue and this comic is all the better for it. This is a solid issue to take us to the halfway point in this series. I'm looking forward to reading how the heroes move on from the shock ending and to seeing how Soule builds on the growing relationship between Frank McGee and Misty Knight. Read Full Review

Two issues in, the series provides a solid read. Buffagni's art continues to evoke a sleek Soule's script uses classic noirnarrative conceits in a way that allows these characters to shine to the best of their personalities. Daredevil's paranoid and vigilant narration, the chemistry between former cops Knight and McGhee, and Cypher's dubious stability collide to invoke a book that would have fit nicely in the Marvel Knights line of old. Buffagni's art is incredible to look at and it fits the tone Soule perfectly. I love the mystery-tone of the book and I hope Cypher isn't actually dead because he dies way to often. I hope Misty and Frank become a couple and Matt has already implied that Frank might be attracted to Misty

Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten. This issue opens with Frank, Misty, Daredevil, and Cypher trying to narrow down the list of Wolverine sitings from millions to just a couple. The team doesn't want to give Cypher access to anymore technology or the internet because he's basically addicted to it. So, they reluctantly give Cypher a phone and within seconds, he narrows the search down to the top manageable sitings. They track Wolverine down to a Manhattan hospital where he delivered flowers to Jane Foster.... but was obviously long gone. They even find some of his other sitings like in Phoenix at th more

A few false leads fill up space before the Detective Squad gets onto Logan's trail in a serious way. I like the core detective story, but I think it's padded for length and some of the padding - particularly "Cypher's internet addiction is just like a smack habit" - disagrees with me. The visual style is heavy, but it does great with dramatic moments.

Is Wolverine here? Nope. Is he over there? No. We got all this crazy research that gives us only a million leads, is that any help? Nuh-uh. Well, did you look between the cushions? I like Soule. He is a competent writer, but unfortunately he was given a garbage assignment. This is competently written garbage.
