The backup feature jacked up the price of this issue by a dollar, and its a dollar I would rather not have spent for that artwork. The Fantastic Four story was a lot of fun. The Thing is such a fun character. The Future Foundation backup was actually really good too! I wasn't expecting that, but I was pleasantly surprised. I liked the continuity being kept with Runaways.

Great chapter and beautiful dynamics. Izaakse is great here too with some nice Menyz colors! I just wish one artist will do more than 2 issues at a time. This book needs consistency in the art department.

The Grimms' honeymoon is spoiled with a Hulk fight, and in the B strip, the Future Foundation roster is tweaked (with the addition of Julie Power) for its upcoming miniseries. The A strip is a lovely ballet with great choreography, and I like the status quo being set up for the Foundation. But I also have misgivings: It feels like breaking the Thing off of his family is how you write the FF in easy mode. And the storytelling style on the Foundation strip (cartoony art and wordy dialogue) is rubbing me the wrong way.

I think a lot of my thoughts with this series come to ahead with this issue: its alright, but not great or anything, at least the characters aren't stereotypes and have some nuance, and Thing gets some developments in his life which continues here and with him as focus its solid enough. But Immortal Hulk comes in randomly, which I haven't liked the couple times they've done this since as someone who follows Immortal Hulk it feels disjointed and it never comes with the art or writing worthy of the series. The cover is beautiful, with some accurate heights, which honestly the covers are the only reason I continue to get this.

I liked the artist. As for the story it seems a little random but overall the selling point of the FF are the characters and there is definitely good charcter work throughout.

Worst issue of the new Fantastic Four series so far a real disappointment. We don't need the boring Hulk character in our book. The four have gone so beyond this character who I find hard to understand why he hasn't been retired off a long time ago
