Dr. Strange #6 brings the good doctor's latest adventure to a wholly-satisfying close. At its core, it's a basic "hero vanquishes villain" story, but both of the parties involved enjoy an admirable level of insight thanks to solid scripting. This was an unfortunate end to a great series that I enjoyed. Not many risks taken by Waid but he had great concepts that ere fun pursuing. Still can't match his first Arc height but a very classic book. Walker's design and art were great too and I appreciate his work here. I hope Waid gets to finish his plans for Strange down the road. Who was sending those messages??

I liked watching Madame Masque evolve into Kate Bishop's nemesis; I don't much appreciate the attempt to drag her back to her old "Tony Stark Stan" characterization. Beyond that, it's a functional plot ennobled by some outstanding art.

Mark Waid's run on Doctor Strange has had its ups and downs. Not as good as what Cates and Aaron were doing, but better than Hopeless, at least. I can't say I'll outright miss it, but it was clearly cut short due to COVID, and that's unfortunate. Maybe Mark Waid will head up the next relaunch when things get back to normal. We'll see. This issue was a little rushed, but it was fine.
