There was a lot of takeaway from this issue of Dr. Strange " Surgeon Supreme, by the end. They packed a lot of discoveries and revelations into this issue, and I for one was satisfied with who the mastermind turned out to be. It was one of those things where you may find yourself wondering why you didn't think of said person orchestrating this chaos, but it worked because anyone would have assumed this was a strictly magic problem. I liked this issue for the sense of adventure and expansion of the magical worlds Stephen Strange seems to be able to trot into at a moment's notice. For the longest time, Marvel Comics has clipped this character's wings by reducing his abilities but now it seems we're steering directly into the awesome charms that go beyond just abracadabra. I enjoyed this one. It felt very long, but not in a bad way? I had a good time. Maybe it's just because I haven't read a Dr. Strange comic in a long time.

Great continuation to the story. Too bad this will not get to finish on its own terms. Waid and Walker/Tartaglia deliver on the classic feel here.

Stephen finally figures out who stole his magic stuff. Dr. Druid slots in nicely as Stephen's sidekick/Dr. Watson and plays a key role in the investigation. This plot is coming together and I'm still liking Kev Walker's chunky but detailed art.
