Back when X2: X-Men United was first released, one of the most thrilling sequences in the movie was the assault on the X-Mansion, with even the indomitable Wolverine being overwhelmed by superior forces. Seeing heroes on the run increases the stakes and the tension, and makes the fight personal " and makes those same characters have to dig in deep and deviate from their typical status quo to save the day. Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo have delivered a similarly harrowing sort of story in Dr. Strange #7 " but now that Strange has gotten his second chance, it's going to be even more exciting to see how this sorcerer strikes back. The latest issue of Doctor Strange by Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo brings the same excellent level of art but falls a bit short on story. This heavily expository issue spins its wheels before moving forward. Overall still a fine issue. Just don't think about it too hard. Read Full Review

The Imperator's origins was the great reveal, his motivations make sense and than they show his brutality right after they try to sympathize with his character. Also seeing Doctor Strange the sorcerer supreme hopeless and unknowing of what to do is interesting.

I don't know it just didn't feel gratifying as previous issues. It's just that the villain they have made isn't as evil as I thought. The origins of the Imperator just seems like he has mommy and daddy issues. Bachalo's art though is nice.

The magic goonies are back together again for the first time and some dude you've never heard of make the ultimate sacrifice. You'll live on in our memories, whats-his-name, for at least a week or so.

We finally see who the Imperator is and why is traveling dimensions to destroy magic. While it somewhat sympathizes the character it turns back around when they show his brutality. I thought it was an interesting insert in the series. The art does a great job of drawing you in.

Magik didn't seem to have teleport MUTANT power. Hard to like the book with a huge flaw.
