Deadpool #4 was every bit as chaotic and entertaining as I was hoping. But more than that, it added weight and import to everything that Deadpool and the monsters have gone through up to this point. This is a great issue. I'm surprised to be able to say that after the last 2 but it is. The story in it isn't anything amazing but it doesn't have to be since it's just a big fight. The art is way better than it has been in the past issues and there's some great character work done with Wade and Kraven here. It's definitely worth picking this one up. Read Full Review

The colors are not muted, but aren't too bright… bright enough where we can feel happy while nothing happy is actually happening. I feel like that's just Deadpool. Eternally positive and trying to making everything a joke, so that we can feel some sort of happiness even in the bleakest of times. I'm really enjoying this run. Having read some classic Deadpool recently, I can say that this run is actually doing a good job in regards to Deadpool.

This series is pretty good. I wouldn't say sooooooo good. But the story/plot is pretty decent. I think Kelly Thompson does a good job doing Deadpool and the overall sarcasim of the comic. And I'm also a fan of Chris Bachalo and I do enjoy what he's doing here. Not his best work but still good.

Deadpool whales on Kraven for a while and then gets saved by the return of his Guard. He has a crisis of faith, but Elsa talks him into not abdicating. Holding onto the "King of Monster island" status quo is the right choice. The most impressive thing about the writing is how these first four issues have been big-picture orchestrated. Kelly Thompson guides Wade through an organic shift from "wacky hijinks" Deadpool to "compassionate anti-hero" Deadpool without losing the funny along the way. Plus, the fine fit between this issue's content (lots of monster fighting) and the artist's tastes finally delivers some visuals I can appreciate.

Prelude: Deadpool fell a bit short last issue, so let's see if this one can improve on that. The Good: I'm still interested in this direction especially as Wade is embracing it. Some cool set-ups. The Bad: Art is still not working for me. The fight wasn't too captivating. Conclusion: It's passable but that's mostly on the premise and the promises it's been setting up.
