Jul 17, 2019Captain Marvel is at her best when her back is against the wall, and writer Kelly Thompson seems to know that. It's in these moments that fans get a glimpse of the person underneath all that power, showing just how human and relatable Carol is, and reminding us why we fell in love with the character all those years ago. But Why Tho? - Charles Hartford
Jul 17, 2019Captain Marvel #8 is a start to a new story arc and it already has me hooked. As the creative team once again exerts their formidable talents in telling a story that is both fantastic, and grounded in reality. I look forward to seeing where this newest tale will lead, knowing that, wherever it goes, it's going to be higher, further, faster than ever before. Read Full Review

Word Of The Nerd - Cat Wyatt
Jul 21, 2019Captain Marvel #8 was an intense but interesting read. The intensity makes sense, given that it's following War of the Realms and a strong sense of foreshadowing. It was a strong lead to a new plot"one that'll be interesting to see where it ends up. Read Full Review

The press, public, and Air Force all turn against Carol over her Kree heritage, but she's got friends she can lean on. This is a stage-setting issue in terms of plot development, but it's built on granite bedrock of great characterization. The Carol/Jess Drew wo-mance is on full display, supported by consistently excellent dialogue and expressive facial art.

It's good and I really tried to but I just can't care enough to keep reading. Since Marvel publishes too many books and I'm already spending too much, I gotta drop something if I'm gonna add something else. Sorry Kelly and Carmen!

Some nice moments.

Very promising begining to a new arc after a poor opening to series, a new arrival and the truth of her kree heritage has Carol questioning her place in a world she no longer feels part of one to watch over next few issues
