" And I'm one of them. So, Yes, i'm taking this personally. And, Yes, this is about my pride--my pride as an american."

At this point, the series feels like it's rushing towards the end.

Overall I enjoy Coates on the title, but every time when it's time to read the new issue, I realize, that I forgot what happened in the last issue. I guess it's normal, when the series is not even monthly at this point. Something I find ridiculous for a character such as Cap, especially when Slott's Fantastic Four is bi-weekly right now, while also there was a huge show with his name on it a month ago.
But I don't think that's not the only reason why I can't remember what happened last. There is also that pacing, that Coates is so famous for. Everything is so slow and 29 issues in, i think we are way past the point for such a slow storytelling and slow progression of the different characters. Don't get me wrong I enjoy those conversa
tions, but they feel a little bit repetitive and I get the feeling that nothing much is happening.
When you combine those 2 things, I think it's pretty understandable how incompatible they are. Slow pacing plus long intervals of publishing.
But enough about that. Let's talk about the issue.
Again the issue was full with conversations and talking, but actually something happened in the end at least. There are some things, that bugged me about Cap here, but I can understand where he is coming from and that the Cap here is the interpretation of Coates. So it's not a big deal and for the most part I really like his Cap. Sin and Alexa were pretty interesting too and the moment in the end was really powerful IMO and I'm curious to see what is leading to. To be honest Coates is doing a great job with the supporting cast, although sometimes he loses the focus of the because of it, and the pacing suffers again. I don't think this issue was like that, but again it was pretty formulaic.
The dialogue is good and half of the reason for this, is the art, which is quite nice and does the story a lot of favors with some great expressions and it's overall understanding of the emotions and the feelings behind it. more

I like the ideas here but man, this series needed better artists. The lackluster art just hurts everything this book is trying to do.

The first half was a chore that kept referencing thing Ive forgotten about due to the slowness of this story. The last half and especially the part with Fisk was really well done.

Back on the side of the angels, Steve and the Daughters take aim at the Lukins. But Sharon pulls a little end run, getting Wilson Fisk involved and giving the plot a twist it desperately needs. I actually like the art; it's clean and effective and well-suited to this script. Hooo, the pace, though! Finish already!

This is a comic you will find in the 10 Cent Bin.... Trash. Art and Story fight for who can be worse.

It honestly totally makes sense to hire the guy who hates America to write a Captain America story.
The art is bland, the dialogue is weird, Steve Rogers is boring, and I'm excited to see Ta Nehisi Coates leave.
