A very well-written and designed magazine that continues to address more of Sharon Carter's potential as she always deserved, and her great relationship with Steve Rogers, witch needs to continue with that beautiful approach, drawing an incredible parallel of the couple of heroes they are, against the couple of villains Alexander and Alexa are, showing that the Lukin couple still maintain their thirst for power. In previous editions, Coates' story seemed to go down more and more, but in a few after, he started to leverage the narrative, bringing more of the relationship between Steve and Sharon, as well as the action and development of the story, turning all again in to a good way. Captain America #24 gives us hope for more dynamic magazine
s and a lot of action and story ahead, as well as a better approach for the supporting characters that are part of this universe that is Captain America. more

Man, this was actually a really good fucking issue. Issues like this are what I want from this run. I feel like Ta-Nehisi Coates is consistently on the edge between exceptional and mediocre. There are arcs here, even half-of-arcs, that don't really work. But then you get issues like these that rope you back in. It really makes you wonder. I think if Coates could get better at pacing his work and if the artists employed were more consistent in quality, that this could be an incredible run. But alas, it's just a good run with moments that really make you wonder why you're reading it at all. I want more of this.

This actually is a pretty good issue. I stopped reading months ago because the narrative was lost for me and it dragged on without payoff and no sense of direction but I decided to pick this up since Acuna was on art. This issue actually shows Coates strengths as a writer where he takes these moments and deliver on the characters angsts juxtaposing it with others to make his points come through effortlessly. Acuna's art helped tremendously as the settings and faces landed well because it didn't look cartoonish for me as it was before. I wish Acuna can do more issues because they work well together.

Its almost like Coates has been reading this message board and took all of our advice. This issue was incredible! If only the whole series had been this good. The Villains are evil the sexy shit was incredibly well written unlike everything else so far. I cant believe how much a fan I became of "Agent 13" this issue really made her and Cap feel like real people. This was hands down the best issue in the series. Ending felt rushed as fuck but when you have an issue this good, that was minor.

Why did Ta-Nehisi Coates withhold this level of writing for so many months? THIS is what we want: Great character work, great interactions, and the parallels between Steve/Sharon and the Lukins -- la chose parfaite! Plus a quantum leap forward in art; please please please let this issue be a new standard for the title and not a one-off fluke.

I feel a little bad giving this under a 7 but it definitely wasnt great. Some of the dialogue in this book is horrendously corny between Steve and Sharon. I did think that acuna on the art made a big difference and the red skull teases were pretty interesting.
