There are so many underlying themes throughout even just this issue, but they're handled so well and presented so clearly that there is never any mess or confusion, only a thrilling and engaging story. Read Full Review

While I have some minor nitpicks about why Steve and Nick were included in this issue at all, everything else is aces and this is a solid entry into both the Captain America canon as well as another solid piece of work from a fantastic team. Read Full Review

Stunning art and intelligent writing combine to make "Winter in America" one of the most power and relevant arcs of 2018. The conclusion to the first arc of Coates/Yu era delivers on all fronts. Read Full Review

Issue #6 is admittedly low on action, as this series has been as well. To be fair, this is the first arc in a run that could go on for a while, so set-up is necessary. As long as we can get more punching thrown in to match the excellent exposition, this series will go on to do very well. Read Full Review

Despite its beautiful art, "Captain America" fails to excite as it does more meandering on strong past stories, rather than paving new ways and paths into surprising and rich tales. Read Full Review

This issue serves more as a prelude to the next arc than a finale to this arc. Most of the issue is spent explaining the villains' side to the complex story that's unfolding and it works well. It establishes very well what their intentions are and why. There's also the wild card that is Red Skull. He's certainly vied for the power that Alexa and Aleksander Lukin want to amass, but he may not be up for alliances after the last one got him killed. This issue also continues something that I personally love about this series. It continues to deal with Secret Empire. Secret Empire was a big deal, and it had lasting ramifications, but the Cap run after it hardly touched on that, despite being the one book that should address it, if any do. Secret more

Pretty good conclusion to a decent first arc of the series. It's very slow, but well-written and reads much better as a whole, not as single issues.

The Lukins exposit their backstory and move forward by framing Cap for murder. Individual scenes and the issue as a whole are sorely lacking in satisfying closure. It's about the only weakness; the art's fantastic and the ideas woven into the dialogue are brilliant.

Im going to have to agree with another user and say that this story arc and Im suspecting this entire run was written as a single read. Read as a whole issues 1-6 set up an interesting arc for The Captain. As an individual issue this was boring but it did in fact add some much needed light to the vagueness of our villains so far that reason it was a better issue than the last. Also the Cover once again is as badass as it gets.

This issue is fine. My biggest problem with the series is that it is very slow moving. I'm trade waiting this series now as this will read better in trade than singles.

"Where were you last night?" Although the issue provides a much-needed exposition and insight into the "bad guys'" plan, it is extremely boring. Nothing exciting or interesting happens. Only the last couple of pages deliver an interesting twist... that can be figured out after reading the opening page of the issue. I'm betting that the Chameleon is the hired hitman.

ACTIVATE SPOILER SHIELD! SPOILER ENEMIES AHEAD! THE GOOD: -I love Leinil Francis Yu's art a lot. It was especially good in this issue. -Very good writing. Coates' use of silence is also really good, I would like to point out. -I liked the end. It nicely capped off a bad issue. THE BAD: -I wish we could have gotten more explanation for the ending of last issue, especially since they have that advantage, with this issue having a flashback and all. -The transition from present to flashback could have been much better than it was, in my opinion. -This issue was sadly unmemorable. No awesome action scenes, one good plot event, and all in all, it ends up being my least favorite issue thus far. -While it was a good more
