Blade #3 continues to impress. Bryan Hill presents a Blade that's a spiritual successor in every way to Wesley Snipes's badass rendition, the story is getting more interesting by the minute, and the cool, slick art is not your typical Marvel fare. Read Full Review

Issue #4 is likely to be even more of a magically-oriented affair, but there's no denying that #3 cast its own spell with a solid chapter of big fights, robust intrigue, and poignant character developments. Read Full Review

Even the most workmanlike qualities often attached to serialized superhero comics are well delivered in Blade and set a very high floor for the series as it continues. Read Full Review

For whatever reason, this worked a lot better for me than the first two issues. Don't get me wrong, the first two were both good, but this really clicked with me. The opening was really cool and it, once again, established Adana as a crazy powerful villain. Then, we got Blade killing Lord Daido in awesome fashion. I will say I would have liked if that part went longer, but it was still cool. I also really liked the setup of the mission going forward, as I think it creates an interesting premise. Plus, the addition of Doctor Strange at the end also has great potential for some really good content in Issue 4 and, possibly, beyond. This was definitely the best issue so far and I'm really looking forward to where this goes next.

Another great issue. Once again it feels like this is an action movie rolling out issue by issue, in '10 min intervals'. Blade works with his 'partner' and old love/hate lady friend to essentially work out an impossible plan. It is insane, but I am loving every second. Blade comes off as amazing and cool. His rag tag team trying to go on a suicide mission is great. His ex also has a hilarious line where she is like "I should totally leave this" then ponders Blade and goes a long with it. It goes feel it has that great pulp action feel still. Everything you want in a Blade comic.

This continues to be a really good series. I'm so glad Blade is back and they didn't destroy his character. He escapes the mind control and then they go out for Dim Sum to talk about strategy. Guess who shows up at the end? Everyone's favorite Sorcerer Supreme. Looking forward to the next issue. Check out my comic reviews on Youtube - https://youtu.be/2x2xl7U3VsE

We finally slow down to chart the course to the next plot point. It's still stylish as all get out, but I'm slightly disappointed by the dearth of substance underneath. The casual disposal of the last issue's cliffhanger was a bit of a letdown, and the subsequent developments didn't quite haul me back to my previous level of engagement. Adana is shaping up so much like the Mother of Horrors in The Incredible Hulk that I think a crossover or at least a nod is required.
