Maresca delivers some great visuals throughout the issue. The details throughout the panels are beautiful and each character is given some great imagery to accompany their moments. I really loved the ending imagery. Read Full Review

Moving In The Right Avenging DirectionLuca Maresca does a great job of showing the ever important facial expression of Blade and Black Panther as they debate the ramifications this would have, and the same goes for Dracula. The end of Jason Aaron's Phoenix centered run bestowed the deadly fire bird's power on Echo (albeit in a cheap and anti-climactic way). Bast only knows where that decision will take the Avengers, but I loved the immediate bond formed between her and fellow flame head Robbie Reyes. Avengers might be heading in the right direction after a topsy turvy 40+ issues, but I'll wait and see how the vampires and Phoenix drama all shake out before coming to any conclusions. Avengers #45doesn't live up to the promise of its cover or solicitation, as it takes place after the events of King in Black and fails to place Blade at the center of its story. With Blade set to become the focus of the upcoming Heroes Reborn miniseries, I hope that series gives the Daywalker his due. Read Full Review

Avengers #45 serves as the bridge between King in Black and what's coming next for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. It's like a touch base for these characters to reset before heading into their next big adventure. The vampire angle is intriguing, especially with the history this title has with Dracula and even putting Blade on the team in the first place. This issue encapsulates Jason Aaron's entire Avengers run. It's hardly the King in Black tie-in it promises on the cover, and instead of dealing with the vast thing that just happened in the book, Aaron sets up something else we may get back to later. My favorite issue in the series in a while. The Dracula subplot has been the best and this update is super interesting for all parties involved. Echo as Phoenix is promising as well. No idea where Heroes Reborn is gonna go but with the line up of artists I'm ready for the ride.

Coming off the absolutely amazing phoenix arc that I had to read multiple times because I loved it so much especially who got the phoenix force. I thought this was another great issue. I have thoroughly enjoyed Aaron's entire run obviously some more than others but the book has been fantastic lately and one of my favorites. I won't lie I am not looking forward to the heroes reborn story coming up personally but have hope Aaron's story will change my mind I am elated with what he has been doing with echo and really hope it continues

Aaron's run has been about 75% build-up, and this series continues the trend, ending with Blade in a sanctioned position of authority over those he's hunted, forcing both parties to play nice for the time being. My favorite part of this issue is the interaction between Robbie Reyes and the newly chosen phoenix, Maya Lopez; if only because it rights the wrong of under-developing Maya in the Phoenix-arc before shoving her in our faces as the new Old-Power. Here's my hopeful ship for Maya and Robbie. Plenty of Avengers downtime flavor abounds this issue and after the self-seriousness of the Phoenix arc, it's all quite welcoming.

After a string of bad issues, I actually liked this one. I like the geopolitical nature of this Avengers run. That's what excited me in the first place. So, it's no surprise. This was also barely a tie-in to King in Black, thank god. I honestly expected an issue where Blade and his vampire army fight symbiote dragons, while Blade monologues about how much he hates it. Luckily, it wasn't that.

I just got through finishing the King In Black Namor tie-in. So glad this wasn't that when I'm King In Black'd out ! Black Panther leads thia iteration of the Avenger? Cap with the COVID mask sure has been getting more panels, Aaron should cut Cap out to avoid the confusion. Besides, Coatea has him! The conversation between Echo & Ghost Rider was a passing the torch moment between cheeseburgers ... An endearing moment when the contrast was the entirety of The Avengers team being complete dick's to their A.I. system. Didn't Dan Slott warn Tony about this? And wow, isn't Dracula busy these days ! At least that gives writer's an excuae for Blade to get some airtime. Now if only he could get that 'fro back ... The exchange between Blade and Black Panther left alot to be desired, especially since Blade basically just dropped The Avengers team and picked up a meaningless title elsewhere as "Sheriff" of a town where nobody respects him. This wasn't the greatest way to write-off Blade, but with everything going on in "Wolverine" & Heroes Reborn , it doesn't look like the Daywalker is going as far as Aaron's pen appears to be putting him. - Audiomack.com/cvrthebard more

Its ok. It had some parts I enjoyed like dracula, echo and ghost rider but it just could be better. Been saying that about this series a lot.

Obviously, this was much better than the whole Phoenix arc. Still, it was quite dragged out, though it's nice to see some world building (even if I'd love Aaron to somehow wrap up at least some of the million plot lines he's got going on here before starting a new one...). I am keen to see how this plays out, but I'm not really excited about being disappointed by this book again.

After King in Black, the Avengers have a busy "day off" during which the Vampire Nation and Echo Phoenix plots get nudged forward. I found two genuinely great developments here: Plotwise, I liked T'Challa and Blade's solution to their Dracula problem; on the character front, I loved Robbie stepping up when Maya needs a friend. And the art was pretty good. But as usual for this title, there was also a cavalcade of weaknesses to tip the scale away from greatness. Very few of the jokes worked for me, there was *way* too much Robbie narration, and the promising "time works differently in Avengers Mountain" idea came in dead on arrival.

I am just going to say it: Jason Aaron clearly lost his touch writing these comics. The dialogue doesnt make me feel attached to the characters, and the art is so bland and mediocre.
