THE TEMPTATION OF ANTHONY STARK!
Special Oversized Issue! Trapped in an icy cave at the dawn of time, Tony Stark has lost most of his armor and a good chunk of his mind. And tonight when the sun goes down and the devil comes round again, Iron Man may very well lose whatever's left of his soul. A dark tale of hell and ice and iron, unlike any Golden Avenger story you've ever read, featuring the gorgeously gritty visuals of guest artist Gerardo Zaffino (CONAN THE BARBARIAN).

Avengers #31 stands nicely on its' own echoing the origin of Iron Man and reminding readers of the complexity and flaws of Tony as both a human and hero. Readers not following Aaron's run deserve to pick this issue up as a character exploration. Readers keeping track of Aaron's connections will find more threads and future story arcs to enjoy. And all will marvel at the artwork that sets this issue apart from the previous arc and standard super hero fare. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Matt Meyer

    Feb 27, 2020

Avengers #31 may have some serious retcon issues involving Howard Stark that must be addressed at some point, and leaves far too many dangling plot threads to be considered a complete narrative, but there's no denying the powerful character work Jason Aaron puts into Iron Man makes for some seriously compelling reading.
