Amazing Spider-Man #47 was an intense reading experience. The way Nick Spencer works real world events in the way Sin-Eater is written gave weight to the character's direction that came across as distinct. How that challenges Spider-Man and furthers the greater Kindred storyline added to the interest in where the "Sins Rising" will end up when all things are said and done. Read Full Review

is a good third part, but it has its problems. I found the roundabout way of finding the resolution that some people can't be saved frustrating, even if it is a good point to make. The overarching idea of this arc -- that some people want to be bad and do terrible things for what they think is a good cause -- is a sound one, especially in a time where cultish behavior seems rampant. Still very into this. I'm like 99% sure this issue was written before the George Floyd protests, so it's remarkable how prescient this issue is (To be clear, the circumstances are very different, but ultimately the themes at play align very well. And the part where police officers almost murder a black man is just the cherry on top). I really like what Nick Spencer is doing, gotta say.

It is another stong entry to Spencer's "Sins Rising" -storyline. I like how Stan isn't necessarily a villain, a monster, but he has a different way of handling things compared to Spider-Man. And he brings more to the table than just Punisher's "kill them without mercy". And the best part of Sin-Eater is that he isn't just a physical threat to Spidey who he can beat in a fight. He is a more psychological enemy and that is great. Also the art is good, even if I miss Bagley a bit.

It is really getting interesting. Chaos is going to boil, I can feel it. The tension is there in this well-written issue. It's amazing how Spencer made Sins-Eater shine in this issue.

It's not looking good for Spidey in this one. This issue focuses on a very real problem facing our society today-The way it embraces violence. It seems people today want to hurt or even kill someone that offends them. It makes sense the Sin-Eater is hailed as a hero, even if his victims still stayed dead. This is one of the darker, but more realistic Spidey tales, especially after the laughs we got with Gog and Boomerang just a few issues ago. And if Norman is Sin-Eater's next target, he may be eating more sin than he can handle. Compared to him the Villains he's went after so far are jaywalkers. He could give Sin-Eater indigestion, and Spider-Man, one of the worst days he's had in a long, long time.

This keeps going in a great way. A Sin-Eater army filled with hateful and frustrated people? Sounds like social-media in a nutshell. The atmosphere is great and Norman Osborn is the next target of the haunting villain!

Side note: its my 1000th review. Damn time flies. This arc is really interesting. Spencer's run has fluctuated so much it was good to get a few good issues in a row. It really has nothing involving kindred yet which is a bummer but I really like what we got. The artist on this one did a really good job as well.

Sin-Eater builds an army and Spidey gets beat down when he tries to stop him. The language didn't impress me, but the themes, character work, and plotting are all outstanding. As others have noted, the ideas about power dynamics between the common people and the authorities/superheroes couldn't be more relevant. I wouldn't quite call the art great, but it's striving and succeeding to be more than merely average.

It's everything I should like especially Spencer's poignant writing but The art didn't work for me and Still feels like we're hovering and waiting for Kindred. The art has great moments and the detail in some scenes is great especially when the characters are masked but the faces and certain layouts took me out of it. Ferreira is good but he needs to work on his craft/faces. the cover is top notch though.
