This is going off of solicitations, so it could be totally off, but next issue is solicited as a prelude to the next big ASM event called "Last Remains". Which may be about Kindred/OMD stuff. But after that, there's a mini arc with Jonah and his new podcast.

Dec 19, 2019Did I forget to mention that this issue has an excellent story? Well. It does. Its technically a 2099 tie-in (that takes place before 2099 Omega), but really its only a quick cameo that ties it into that story, and it was a bit confusing, as the 2099 part seems like its going to be continued in a future issue of this series. Aside from that, we have some plotlines that are finally tied up. A couple that has gone on about two issues too long in my opinion. As always, Spencer gives us some killer dialogue and some really crazy ideas like a Spider-Man version of the movie Groundhog Day. A great issue that quickly turns the action up to eleven and doesnt slow it down until the very last panel. And then, he turns it up to twelve! I cant recommend this book highly enough. Dec 23, 2019Bazaldua delivers some beautiful art in this issue. Everything from the characters to the backgrounds look great and the action moments between Spidey and Doom look awesome. Read Full Review

Dec 18, 2019One of the better issues in the whole Doom/2099 arc, but it doesn't save the arc as a whole. This whole arc became an exhaustive read for me, and I'm honestly glad it's over. At least with this issue I found myself enjoying it a little bit more than some of the last chapters. Read Full Review

Dec 18, 2019It's a real shame that the artwork here is such a hindrance as there's a great story to be found. Read Full Review

Dec 18, 2019Amazing Spider-Man #36 doesn’t give this arc what it needed to be redeemed. It’s hard to care about anything that’s happening, and there aren’t any real surprises in store. I think it’s safe to say that this is at the bottom of Nick Spencer’s stories on Spider-Man so far. The art is alright at best and otherwise jarring, and the same can be said for the coloring. If you read in trades, I would skip this one entirely. If you’ve been reading the floppies, prepare to be whelmed. Read Full Review

This really didn't explain anything from 2099 Omega, besides where old Miguel came from... I think it's implied that what transpired during this arc leads to the 2099 future we saw with the one-shots. I understand the pickle that Spencer was in here. Keeping Spidey 2099 in the present means that he has plans for him, but in order for that to make sense, the previous incarnation of 2099 had to be scrapped given how Peter David's last run ended. So, now, I'm just wondering if there will be follow up to this "event." Clearly, everything here will have follow up in Spencer's run, I just don't see how that's going to continue to the point of the 2099 one-shots. Is that just the canon now? Will the original version be brought back? Will this new more

Once again a pretty good issue, I'm glad we didn't do too much with the future, even if it ended up being a bit of an anticlimax.

Worst story arc at this point

I know that a lot of people hated it, but I think it was quite funny to read.

This wasn't that bad. Art wasn't Bazaldua's greatest. But it was an okay ending to a storyline I didn't like that much.

The story itself was actually pretty good but as for how this needed to be a 2099 arc. Im not sure. I'm pretty disappointed in certain aspects of the 2099 story in general but I guess overall it was ok.

This arc started out very promising, but has gotten worse with each issue, quite similarly to the other tie-ins to the 2099 story.

I think I'm gonna drop amazing spider Man for now. This arc basically did nothing for me and I'm sure it was just marvel saying we want 2099 back let's make some pointless arc to have that, and boost up sales for about 3 months. Could have used these issues to beef up more MJ Peter stuff but instead she got sent to California and we got this. I hope Spencer makes do on his promise with undoing OMD, I'll check in that starts to pop up again

Pete is well written here and this feels like a Spider-Man story...but with the way this event was advertised, all for 5 minutes with Doom? It gets knocked down because of its (overall) cost.

This was just bad all around the writing and the art. At least it;s done now and we can move on from this 2099 mess.

My god. This arc actually had some interesting concepts going on, but the art is insulting. This is a top tier character. Marvel's highest of the high A-list characters, and this is the art they settle on? I have a friend who isn't a comic artist and she drew a comic that looked 1000x better than this... for free. Once again the arc as a whole just feels sloppy and unsatisfying, but since it is Spencer he has left plenty of seeds.

This is just bad. How can Marvel consider this writing and art okay for one of its premier characters. I'm dropping this book. I might check back in on it a year from now. I'm sure I won't miss much...Spencer will still be milking the Kindred mystery for all it's worth.

I'm sooooo glad they nose-dived ASM through this garbage arc instead of giving 2099 a proper event miniseries. This worked out MUCH better for the readers and the story. *Sarcasm meter explodes*
