Its ending is somewhat predictable and feels like it's more concerned with setting the table for a separate Ghost Rider book, but writer Ed Brisson gets a ton of fun out of Carnage as a Ghost Rider (complete with a Carnage Cycle) and there's plenty of dark humour spread throughout. Again, this is not too important for those keeping track of Absolute Carnage, but if you just want extra content, this issue was one of the better tie-ins. By the book's conclusion this issue serves a little more as a lead-in for the upcoming Ghost Riders title, so if you are a fan of Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, etc., you can treat this as a teaser. Absolute Carnage: Symbiote of Vengeance is a comic that you read quickly and generally forget. It's entertaining but doesn't stand out a whole bunch. Danny Ketch fails to save a deep-cut Ghost Rider carrying a codex from Carnage. It's got a grim outcome, but the art is outstanding and the script raises some interesting points for both Carnage and Johnny Blaze. I'd love it if other authors in the event picked up the idea that Carnage gains temporary superpowers after eating a hero's codex … but I'm not holding my breath. This is more important as a Ghost Rider comic (a pretty good one) than as a part of Absolute Carnage.

It's not necessary, it's more for Ghost Riders fans than Absolute Carnage fans, but it was still pretty good.

Prelude: Another Absolute Carnage tie-in, but is it like most of them or is it on par with Cates'? The Good: Quite an interesting issue and it serves two purposes. The first was to feature the symbiote stuff from Absolute Carnage, the other to get ready for Ghost Rider. I like the Ghost Rider stuff in this issue as well. The Bad: Not really instrumental to the story but it is a tie-in. It's more of a set up to Ghost Rider #1. Conclusion: It's arguably more setup for the upcoming (as of writing) Ghost Rider series and it has me intrigued on that front. As a Absolute Carnage tie-in, it's passable but nothing to rave on about.

It is 2019. You don't need to explain the definition of "insanity" anymore, even though you said crazy... and I know crazy and insanity are splitting hairs. It is a total cliche at this point. Also, the villagers are seriously throwing molotov cocktails at a demonic creature with its head and ribcage on fire, I would say the definition of stupidity should apply to them, but it actually seemed to scare Carnage off.
