Universal Monsters: Frankenstein #3

The next issue explores the origin of the monsters eyes. It will be interesting to see how Walsh frames the sight of a conflicted creature that has been drawn together by various people suffering from various issues that cut right to the core of who they are. Walshs work really delivers a breathtaking look at the background of the film thats based on Shellys work...expanding it and illuminating it in ways the bring a bit more definition to the Universal film as an accomplished work in and of itself. Frankenstein #3 sets us up for the big finale in this iteration of the classic horror tale. This issue is all about the heart and allows the reader to connect with the characters we haven't spent a lot of time with setting us up for an epic finale. Read Full Review

UNIVERSAL MONSTERS: FRANKENSTEIN #3 presents a serviceable, penultimate issue to provide insight into Elizabeth's relationship with Henry and create a loose explanation for the monster's fixation on Elizabeth. Michael Walsh's art reverently captures the look and feel of the original film, but the script suffers from pacing problems and a mild retcon that's too clunky to be effective. Read Full Review

Truly love this issue. Great story explaining why Frankestein monster is kind to Elizabeth. Art works well with the story in setting the mood and tone of the story. Can't wait for final issue.

Another good issue. We really needed to know the relationship between Henry (not sure why his name is not Victor) and Elizabeth. This explains why she is sticking by him. Paul is a great addition whose very presence illustrates the other characters' personalities. The monster appears several times, but I wish we had seen what happened to Elizabeth. Probably my favorite issue yet. The art remains the star, but the story in this felt engaging.
